- • As a Staff Software Engineer on the Core Canvas team at Tactivos Inc., you will shape the technical direction of the foundational platform powering Mural’s visual thinking experience, ensuring the editor is fast, reliable, intuitive, and easy to build on.
- • You will lead the design and implementation of complex platform capabilities including real-time collaboration, shared document editing, spatial interactions, rendering performance, asset management, developer APIs, and AI-enabled features, guiding projects from concept through release and iteration.
- • You will partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to translate ambiguous problems into high-quality technical solutions, while improving platform quality, reducing complexity, and enabling teams to ship safely and quickly.
- • You will elevate team expertise through mentorship, technical design reviews, code reviews, and contributions to engineering standards, processes, and culture across teams and departments.
🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with familiarity in React, Node.js, or comparable modern frameworks
- • 10+ years building and shipping large-scale production software as part of an agile engineering team
- • Systems architecture judgment with a track record of delivering scalable, reliable, high-performance systems and developer-facing abstractions
- • Experience designing clean API contracts and service boundaries, including data modeling, versioning, validation, error handling, and documentation
- • 3+ years building distributed, concurrent, or real-time systems such as collaboration tools, with expertise in synchronization, consistency, event ordering, latency, and failure modes
- • Strong background in architecting complex systems with rich object models including hierarchical scene/document structures, spatial indexing, layout behavior, asset management, and selection mechanics
- • Track record of building or integrating AI-enabled product capabilities in production, such as intelligent editing, automation, or semantic understanding
- • Performance optimization expertise including profiling, bottleneck analysis, memory/CPU efficiency, latency reduction, and maintaining responsiveness at scale
- • Proven technical project leadership in planning and delivering systems iteratively with a focus on customer value
- • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, influence direction, and contribute to engineering culture
