Staff Software Engineer (Customer Platform)

📋 Description

• • As a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) on Chainguard’s Customer Platform team, you will design and build the backend services and public APIs that power critical customer-facing capabilities such as authentication, notifications, and next-generation APIs used across multiple product lines.
• • Your day-to-day work will involve owning features from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration; collaborating closely with Product Management and Experience (frontend) teams; contributing to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines; and extending Chainguard’s agentic AI foundation into customer-facing experiences.
• • You’ll join a fast-paced, product-driven engineering culture at Chainguard — a trusted provider of hardened, secure open source software used by Fortune 500 enterprises and AI leaders like OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake — backed by top-tier investors including Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins.
• • In this role, you’ll deepen your expertise in scalable backend systems, public API design, cloud-native architectures, and cross-product collaboration while shipping high-impact features that directly improve customer reliability, security, and developer experience.
