📋 Description

• As a Staff Software Engineer focused on Data Extraction at Pivotal Health Inc., you will design and build the ingestion, parsing, normalization, and enrichment pipelines that turn messy healthcare data into structured assets, directly powering claims evidence generation and improving Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) outcomes.
• You will own clinical data extraction architecture, build document intelligence pipelines for PDFs and scanned records, lead healthcare data modeling efforts, develop scalable ingestion services, establish data quality standards, and mentor engineers across the organization while driving technical strategy for unstructured healthcare data.
• Pivotal Health is a leading technology platform that helps healthcare providers get paid fairly by combining software, data, and service into an AI-driven solution that simplifies complex reimbursement workflows and reduces administrative burden.
• In this role, you will define foundational systems for clinical data processing that influence product strategy for years to come, solve difficult data problems with no clean source of truth, and work with large-scale healthcare datasets to improve provider advocacy and reimbursement recovery.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building backend software systems in production environments
• Experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CDA, or EHR integrations
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, or similar backend languages
• Experience designing large-scale data processing or document processing platforms, specifically with clinical data
• Proven ability to design systems that operate reliably across imperfect or incomplete datasets
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve as the business learns
