• • As a Staff Software Engineer on Okta's Advanced Apps team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of identity management by designing, developing, and maintaining robust connectors to a wide array of critical SaaS applications. This pivotal role involves deep collaboration with the Lifecycle Management (LCM) team, contributing to the automation of essential Joiner, Mover, and Leaver processes for our enterprise customers.
• • Your primary focus will be on building and enhancing connectors that enable customers to seamlessly import and provision identity and entitlement data into their SaaS environments. This includes applications such as Workday, Salesforce, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and many others, ensuring Okta's platform remains the leading independent provider of enterprise identity solutions.
• • You will engage in major development projects, taking ownership from initial design through to successful implementation. This requires a proactive approach to understanding complex application-specific protocols and translating them into scalable, reliable connector solutions.
• • A key aspect of this role is interfacing with a diverse range of cross-functional teams. You will work closely with Architects to define technical strategies, QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage, Product Management to refine requirements and understand market needs, Technical Support to address customer issues, Documentation teams to create clear user guides, and UX teams to ensure intuitive integration experiences.
• • You will be responsible for analyzing and refining requirements with Product Management, ensuring that the technical solutions align perfectly with business objectives and customer expectations. This involves a deep dive into the intricacies of identity management and application integration.
• • Quick prototyping will be a crucial part of your workflow, allowing you to validate the scalability and performance of new features and architectural designs before full-scale implementation. This iterative approach ensures that Okta's connectors can handle the demands of large, global organizations.
• • The design and implementation of new features will be accompanied by the development of comprehensive functional and unit tests. Furthermore, you will be responsible for integrating robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the continuous health and performance of the connectors in production environments.
• • Code reviews will be a regular activity, contributing to the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase. You will also be involved in performance tuning and optimization efforts to ensure our connectors operate with maximum efficiency.
• • Collaborating with the QA team, you will help outline and implement thorough test coverage strategies, ensuring that application-specific features are rigorously tested and meet Okta's high standards for reliability and functionality.
• • Troubleshooting and supporting customer issues will be an integral part of the role. This involves debugging complex problems using logs from systems like Splunk and Syslogs, providing timely and effective solutions to keep our customers' identity management processes running smoothly.
