📋 Description

• • As a Staff Software Engineer on the Azure Integrations team at Okta, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the integrations that connect Okta's world-class identity platform with Microsoft's Azure AD Identity Platform (including Entra ID and MSGraph). This is a critical role where you'll leverage your deep technical expertise to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services that are central to our customers' security and operational success.
• • You will dive deep into our existing Azure Integrations codebase, thoroughly understanding its architecture, development workflows, and best practices. This includes mastering our use of Jira for task management, contributing to technical design documentation, participating actively in code reviews, implementing comprehensive automated testing strategies, and ensuring smooth deployments.
• • A key aspect of your role will be to collaborate closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to analyze, refine, and shape technical requirements. Your ability to ask insightful questions and drive clarity will be crucial in translating business needs into elegant and effective technical solutions.
• • You will provide essential support for the Azure Integrations platform, proactively addressing and resolving incoming bugs and customer-reported issues. This requires a keen analytical mind and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of service availability and customer satisfaction.
• • Working alongside other engineering leads, you will play a significant part in scoping and planning engineering efforts for upcoming projects and feature launches. Your input will be vital in driving the team's roadmap activities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and technical feasibility.
• • You will be responsible for the design and implementation of distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software components. This involves architecting solutions that can handle massive scale and ensure high availability, even under demanding conditions, utilizing modern backend technologies.
• • As a senior member of the team, you will actively participate in and champion code quality improvements through rigorous PR reviews. You will set a high bar for code craftsmanship, ensuring maintainability, performance, and security across the codebase.
• • You will be a key driver of the team's performance culture, mentoring and guiding more junior engineers. Your experience and leadership will help foster their growth, enabling them to contribute effectively and develop their own technical skills.
• • Cross-functional collaboration is paramount. You will work seamlessly with QA engineers, Product Managers, Technical Support specialists, Documentation writers, Technical Program Managers (TPMs), and UX designers to build an extensible and user-friendly platform.
• • You will take ownership of specific features and/or entire systems, defining and implementing strategies for their long-term health, observability, and reliability. This includes establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring metrics to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
• • The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating technical debt, ensuring the platform remains modern, efficient, and secure over time.
