📋 Description
- • Staff Software Engineer, ML Infrastructure at Voxel Technologies Inc. owns the technical foundation for training, tracking, and deploying vision models at scale, enabling rapid innovation in computer vision for safety and operations.
- • Day to day, the role involves setting technical direction for ML infrastructure, architecting training systems on PyTorch and AWS, owning model export to optimized formats like TensorRT and ONNX, implementing experiment tracking with tools like Weights & Biases or MLflow, establishing DevOps-for-ML practices including CI/CD and observability, mentoring engineers on ML best practices, and anticipating future needs such as on-device inference.
- • Voxel is building AI-powered computer vision systems that turn existing security cameras into real-time hazard detectors for Fortune 500 clients in grocery, retail, manufacturing, logistics, and pharma, having surpassed $10M ARR and backed by top-tier VCs.
- • The engineer will shape the ML stack for years to come, gain end-to-end ownership of critical infrastructure, deepen expertise in scalable ML systems, and influence how AI is deployed safely and efficiently across high-impact industries.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years building and shipping large-scale software systems, with at least 3 years focused on ML infrastructure or large-scale data infrastructure
- • Deep fluency in PyTorch and the modern ML training stack, including reliable training pipelines and effective experiment tracking
- • Strong Python skills with a focus on writing performant, maintainable production code
- • Proven ability to own architectural decisions, including tool selection, framework choices, and build-vs-buy evaluations for systems used by other engineers
- • Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex technical tradeoffs to researchers, peers, and leadership
- • Pragmatic shipping orientation — knowing when to prioritize architectural rigor versus speed and avoiding over-engineering
