- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-impact features—from whiteboard sketches through production deployment—ensuring every line of code meets the performance and scale demands of a global media giant.
- • Serve as the functional lead for the web chapter, guiding technical design reviews, enforcing coding standards, and signing off on pull requests to guarantee reliability, security, and maintainability.
- • Optimize rendering pipelines, bundle sizes, and caching strategies to achieve sub-second load times and 60 fps interactions, even on low-end set-top boxes and emerging-market smartphones.
- • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to translate ambitious product visions into shippable increments, balancing user delight with business KPIs.
- • Build reusable component libraries and design-system foundations that accelerate feature delivery across squads while preserving brand consistency and accessibility compliance.
- • Champion observability: instrument code with real-time metrics, distributed tracing, and synthetic user journeys to detect regressions before viewers feel them.
- • Mentor and level-up a growing team of frontend engineers through pair programming, tech talks, and career-path coaching, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety.
- • Drive cross-platform innovation by evaluating new web standards (e.g., WebAssembly, AV1, WebCodecs) and integrating them into the roadmap when they demonstrably improve streaming quality or interactivity.
- • Contribute to open-source initiatives that align with JioStar’s tech stack, raising the company’s engineering brand and giving back to the community that powers our tools.
- • Partner with SRE and infrastructure teams to define SLIs/SLOs, automate canary releases, and design graceful degradation paths for edge cases like network partitions or CDN outages.
- • Lead incident retrospectives and post-mortems, translating outages into actionable architectural improvements that prevent recurrence and strengthen system resilience.
- • Influence strategic technology choices—evaluating build tools (Vite, esbuild), state-management patterns (Zustand, Recoil), and testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress)—to keep the stack modern yet pragmatic.
- • Present engineering achievements and technical roadmaps to executive leadership, quantifying impact in terms of viewer engagement, ad revenue uplift, and engineering velocity.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7–10 years of professional frontend development with deep mastery of JavaScript and React in large-scale production environments.
- • Expert-level understanding of browser internals, event loops, rendering pipelines, and performance profiling tools (Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Chrome DevTools).
- • Proven track record designing scalable architecture patterns (micro-frontends, module federation, state hydration) that support millions of concurrent sessions.
- • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding technical direction, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers in an agile, cross-functional setting.
- • Nice-to-have: open-source contributions, conference speaking, or published technical articles that showcase thought leadership in the web ecosystem.
