- • As a Staff Solutions Engineer at Kong, you will act as a pivotal sales engineer bridging traditional API management and the emerging AI Platforming era, owning the technical journey for customers integrating Kong’s platform with Kafka streams, AI orchestration tools, and hybrid-cloud environments.
- • You will support field sales in helping customers understand the value of Kong’s API/Connectivity Management platform, understand customer requirements, grow trusted client relationships throughout the sales lifecycle, support PoCs, ensure 100% customer satisfaction, prioritize customer needs, coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams, create technical documentation for DevOps and implementations, and support marketing through blogs, webinars, and trade shows.
- • Kong Inc. is a leading developer of API and AI connectivity technologies, building infrastructure for the agentic era with its unified Kong Konnect platform, trusted by Fortune 500 companies and startups to secure, manage, accelerate, govern, and monetize API and AI model flows.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in DevOps, AIOps, FinOps, Agentic AI, and Event-Driven Architectures while influencing strategic customer outcomes and shaping technical adoption of Kong’s platform in complex enterprise environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of software engineer and/or sales engineer management experience at a SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise Software company
- • Solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models
- • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and other cloud native platforms
- • Experience with APIs, CI/CD automation frameworks, and AI and LLM technologies
- • Strong listener and communicator with ability to lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives
- • Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture
