- • As a Staff Zuora Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and expanding our Zuora platform, ensuring it scales seamlessly with our growing business needs and supports the operational success of restaurants and local businesses worldwide.
- • This is a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with Product Managers, Zuora's internal technical experts, and cross-functional engineering teams within our R&D organization, driving innovation and delivering scalable technical solutions.
- • You will be the go-to expert for all things Zuora, leveraging your deep understanding of the Zuora Billing application and its extensive APIs to integrate it effectively with our existing and future financial systems.
- • Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of billing and payment solutions, from initial concept and requirement gathering to final implementation and ongoing optimization.
- • A key aspect of this role involves collaborating with stakeholders to meticulously understand project requirements and objectives, translating complex business needs into actionable technical designs for Zuora Subscription Billing and Zuora Payment.
- • You will take ownership of configuring and refining Zuora’s Product Catalog, including defining rate plans, pricing models, and subscription structures that accurately reflect our business offerings and streamline billing processes.
- • Ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our Zuora environment will be paramount. You will be responsible for implementing industry best practices and robust security measures to protect sensitive financial data.
- • You will have hands-on experience customizing Zuora using its powerful tools, including Zuora Workflows, Zuora API, and ZOQL, and will be adept at integrating Zuora with various other financial platforms and enterprise systems.
- • Designing and implementing sophisticated payment solutions will be a core function, encompassing a wide range of payment methods such as Credit Cards, Alternative Payment Methods (APMs), ACH, and Direct Debit.
- • A thorough understanding of the intricacies of Payment Gateways, country-specific payment regulations, refund processes, chargeback management, cancellation workflows, and network tokenization is essential for success in this role.
- • You will configure and manage automated notifications within Zuora, ensuring that all relevant partners, both internal and external, are kept informed of critical billing events, subscription changes, and important updates in a timely and efficient manner.
- • Customizing and designing invoice templates within Zuora will be another key responsibility, ensuring they align perfectly with Toast's branding guidelines and meet the diverse requirements of our customer base.
- • You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on billing processes and best practices. Your deep domain knowledge will be leveraged to drive optimal solutions and lead impactful business discussions with customers and internal teams.
- • This includes leading solution workshops, framing clear problem statements, and delivering comprehensive technical solutions that address complex business challenges.
- • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our billing systems, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and enhanced customer experience.

🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Zuora Billing, including extensive development and configuration.
- • Proven experience in leading and implementing Zuora Billing solutions for one or more companies, demonstrating a deep understanding of its end-to-end capabilities.
- • Strong proficiency in customizing Zuora using Zuora Workflows, Zuora API, and ZOQL, with a solid understanding of the Zuora Business Object model.
- • Demonstrated experience in translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications and effective solution designs.
- • Expertise in requirements gathering, use case documentation, business analysis, systems design and integration, and user interface design and implementation within the Zuora ecosystem.
- • Experience with data analysis, conversion, migration, and developing interfaces and reports related to billing systems.
- • Familiarity with Zuora’s Product Catalog, including rate plans, pricing models, security configurations, notification systems, and invoice template customization.
- • Understanding of payment gateways, country-specific payment requirements, refund and chargeback processes, and network tokenization.
