- • The State Account Director at Versaterm Inc. is a strategic leadership role focused on driving state-level government affairs and public sector initiatives to advance the adoption of public safety technology solutions. This position is critical to aligning organizational capabilities with government priorities, securing funding, and expanding Versaterm’s impact in public safety ecosystems across U.S. states.
- • The role serves as the primary liaison between Versaterm and state/local government officials, legislators, agency leaders, and public safety stakeholders, managing external lobbyists and leading cross-functional efforts to shape procurement strategies, appropriations, and long-term partnerships that support community safety and technological innovation.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and executing state-level government affairs strategies involving legislative engagement, appropriations, and procurement; driving state and agency procurement strategies through RFP positioning, funding alignment, and acquisition pathways in coordination with legal, compliance, and product teams; serving as the primary owner of strategic state-level accounts by managing the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract execution and revenue attainment; leading cross-functional strategic projects that advance government program implementation, pilots, and statewide initiatives; tracking and reporting on the progress, outcomes, and impact of government initiatives and strategic projects; supporting long-range planning for public sector expansion, funding pathways, and government program development; managing and coordinating external lobbyists and government relations partners while directly engaging with legislators, legislative staff, and key policymakers to advance state-level public safety initiatives; and representing the company’s interests in multi-state legislative processes.

- • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in state government procurement, appropriations, and lobbying compliance; strengthen strategic account management and cross-functional leadership skills; gain experience navigating complex government sales cycles and multi-stakeholder environments; and build a proven track record in influencing policy, securing funding, and delivering large-scale public safety technology initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
- • 10 years of experience in government sales or strategic account management.
- • Proven track record of selling SaaS solutions to state government agencies.
- • Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex state procurement, contracting, and compliance processes.
- • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics platforms.
