- • As a Strategic Finance Engineer at Rescale, you will be a foundational hire in the Strategic Finance team, taking ownership of automated workflows initially built by the Director of Strategic Finance and extending them using Python, SQL, and AI tools to drive scalable, digital-first finance processes that directly impact pricing, forecasting, reporting, and GTM strategy.
- • You will partner closely with Sales, Product, Operations, and executive leadership to analyze cloud spend, model GTM headcount and quota plans, evaluate ROI on investments, and deliver data-driven insights that inform board-level decisions and accelerate AI-enabled transformation across finance and operations.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include extending automated workflows with Python + SQL and AI tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, LangChain/LangGraph), supporting pricing strategy and deal desk analysis, maintaining revenue and gross margin forecasts, building and owning reliable ETL pipelines, analyzing cloud procurement scenarios, participating in code reviews, and conducting ad hoc strategic analysis for the CFO and executive team.
- • You will work within a mission-driven, collaborative culture at Rescale—a leader in digital engineering that is transforming how products are developed through intelligent automation, applied AI, and integration with the world’s largest network of engineering and R&D applications—serving industries like aerospace, energy, life sciences, and manufacturing.
- • This role offers direct mentorship from the Director of Strategic Finance (who brings 8 years of coding experience in usage-based B2B SaaS), executive visibility with the CFO and leadership team, and the opportunity to apply your technical and financial skills to critical growth levers while building scalable, production-grade finance systems that are documented, version-controlled, and maintainable by others.
- • You will gain hands-on experience in AI-enabled digital transformation of finance, develop expertise in SaaS economics and cloud spend optimization, and strengthen your ability to translate complex quantitative analysis into actionable strategic recommendations that shape company direction.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and AI tooling such as LangChain/LangGraph, Cursor, or Claude Code, with the ability to develop and maintain automated workflows.
- • 3+ years of experience in engineering, finance, analytics, consulting, or a related field, with solid quantitative skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- • Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS or Azure), software engineering fundamentals (Git, code review, clean/documented code, basic testing), and comfort working with high-precision, number-heavy financial data.
