  • • The Strategic Sourcing Leader, Go-to-Market role at OpenAI is critical to enabling the company’s mission by ensuring responsible, secure, and commercially disciplined scaling of external partnerships across research, product, technology, and services.
  • • Day to day, the role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies across GTM, Brand, Global Affairs, Events, Growth, and Partnerships; leading negotiations for high-value commercial agreements; managing supplier relationships across media, creative, production, influencer, agencies, sponsorships, and analytics; building scalable procurement pathways; and providing strategic insights to senior leadership on spend, performance, and savings.
  • • The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team sits at the intersection of innovation and execution, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into compliant, economically sound external partnerships that enable OpenAI to move faster with the right partners and strong governance.
  • • In this role, the person will lead and develop a high-performing team, shape sourcing strategies from reactive deal support into a speed-enabling commercial engine, standardize contracting approaches for recurring GTM motions, and drive cost and commercial optimization without compromising quality, speed, or launch readiness—directly contributing to OpenAI’s ability to execute high-impact global initiatives at scale.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 12+ years of progressive procurement experience
  • • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing across marketing, advertising, communications, media, creator/influencer, sponsorships, partnerships, production, and events within major consumer or business brands
  • • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • • Deep knowledge of both B2B and B2C GTM channels, supplier landscapes, and commercial dynamics of paid media, production, creator ecosystems, agencies, and partnerships
  • • Proven expertise supporting large and fast-growing GTM budgets and enabling high-impact campaigns, partnerships, activations, and events rapidly and effectively
  • • Strong negotiation and cross-functional stakeholder management skills with a track record of securing high-value, favorable agreements in ambiguous and fast-moving environments
