đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Crusoe Energy Systems, a pioneering company at the forefront of the AI revolution, where we are building the sustainable infrastructure to power the future of artificial intelligence. Our mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence, creating a world where ambitious AI development is unhindered by scale, speed, or sustainability concerns. As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist III, you will be instrumental in securing the vital resources needed to execute our innovative data center and power generation projects, which harness wasted natural gas and renewable energy sources to fuel advanced computing.
  • • In this critical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement of IT, Network, and Cloud-related hardware, software, and services. Your expertise will directly impact the timely and cost-effective delivery of essential project components, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a company that is actively mitigating environmental impact and driving the global energy transition through cutting-edge technology.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve meticulous Service Level Agreement (SLA) management. You will define, negotiate, and monitor SLAs with key vendors, with a sharp focus on critical metrics such as "uptime" percentages, latency, and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). This ensures that our technology infrastructure consistently meets the high performance standards required for our operations.
  • • You will also be at the forefront of managing evolving licensing models. This includes overseeing the transition from traditional perpetual licenses to more agile, subscription-based cloud models across major platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP. Your insights will guide cost optimization efforts, ensuring we leverage these models effectively and economically.
  • • Data privacy and security are paramount. You will ensure that all vendor contracts rigorously comply with relevant data protection regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and SOC2 requirements, particularly concerning how sensitive data is stored and managed within our cloud environments. This involves close collaboration with our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to guarantee that all suppliers adhere to stringent cybersecurity standards, safeguarding our data and our clients'.
  • • Cost optimization is a continuous effort. You will actively monitor cloud consumption patterns to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, such as "zombie" instances or underutilized licenses, thereby preventing unnecessary expenditure and maximizing our return on investment.
  • • Managing contract renewals effectively is key to maximizing our bargaining power. You will strategically coordinate the "coterminosity" of contracts, aligning end dates to create opportunities for more favorable terms and pricing during renegotiations.
  • • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all hardware assets (including routers, switches, and servers) and software licenses is crucial for operational efficiency and compliance. You will be responsible for the upkeep of this vital asset tracking system.
  • • In instances where vendors fail to meet their contractual obligations, such as promised uptime, you will adeptly handle dispute resolution and manage credit claims, ensuring that Crusoe Energy Systems is appropriately compensated and that vendor performance is held to account.
  • • Supplier engagement and identification will be a core function. You will demonstrate a strong ability to obtain and analyze product and price data, conduct thorough comparative analyses of vendor terms and price quotations against historical data, and develop well-reasoned recommendations for vendor selection, contract terms, and pricing. This includes managing various source selection processes, from formal bids to informal vendor screening.
  • • You will lead and conduct multiple bid events concurrently, including Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Preparing comprehensive bid summaries and presenting clear, data-driven award recommendations in slide deck format to leadership and stakeholders will be essential.
  • • Contract negotiation and management will encompass a wide range of agreements, such as Service Orders, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs), Consulting Agreements, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts. Your experience in contract award, modifications, and subcontracts, as well as developing and presenting terms and conditions, will be invaluable.
  • • Effective cross-functional collaboration is vital. You will work closely with internal teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Legal counsel, as well as external suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution. The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals on a daily basis is a key requirement.
  • • This role demands both the ability to work independently, taking initiative and ownership of tasks, and the capacity to collaborate effectively as part of a dynamic team. Your organizational and time-management skills will be critical in juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • • This position is 100% on-site at our Cherry Creek, Denver headquarters, offering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
