📋 Description
- • The Student Assistant, User Experience Research supports the Student Centered Design Lab (SCDL), the nation’s first UX lab dedicated to improving student access and success within California Community Colleges, by contributing to research that informs real-world improvements across the system.
- • Day to day, the role involves supporting the planning, design, and conduct of research activities, recruiting and coordinating participants, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing data and research findings, and learning and applying equitable, student-centered design and UX research methods in a real-world setting.
- • The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC) blends the impact of a non-profit, the culture of an entrepreneurial start-up, and the scale of a state agency, with a mission to benefit, support, and enhance the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation.
- • In this role, the student assistant will gain hands-on experience in participatory research, UX research, and student-centered design, develop professional skills in remote collaboration and technology platforms, and contribute to meaningful projects that expand pathways to economic and social mobility across California.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently enrolled as a student (implied by Student Assistant role)
- • Interest in social science research, UX research, or student success initiatives
- • Proficient in remote work and navigating technology platforms including Zoom, MS Office, Teams, Outlook, Salesforce, and Google Suite
- • Takes initiative and accountability in learning and project execution, seeks innovative solutions, and builds strong stakeholder relationships
- • Commits to continuous self-improvement and professional growth by staying updated on best practices
