- • The Student Services Manager will design, implement, and lead a comprehensive, compliant, and student-centered counseling program for MiaPrep Online Academy of Ohio, a new virtual high school serving grades 7-11 with plans to grow to over 1,000 students by 2030.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include building graduation planning and credit tracking systems, ensuring compliance with Ohio graduation requirements and EMIS reporting, leading a team of counselors and advisors, identifying and supporting at-risk students, managing SIS workflows and transcript audits, and using data to improve student outcomes and support enrollment growth.
- • The role is part of Miaplaza’s mission to elevate online learning through accessible, inclusive homeschool curriculum platforms, and the manager will serve as a key leader on the school’s leadership team, aligning academic programming, student services, and operations with state standards.
- • The position offers the opportunity to build a counseling program from the ground up, develop dual credit and career-technical pathways, foster a values-driven team culture, and gain leadership experience in launching and scaling a virtual public school while advancing expertise in Ohio education compliance and student support systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Master’s Degree in school counseling, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- • 3+ years in an academic counseling role at the high school level
- • 3+ years managing people in a school counseling department
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
- • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- • Tech-savvy with ability to learn new platforms quickly (gradebooks, Google Classroom, curriculum platforms, Google Workspace)
- • Proficiency in or willingness to learn responsible use of AI tools in education
- • Current resident of Ohio or willing to relocate to Ohio
