  • • ICF is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join our dynamic, client-focused team. This is a remote position, ideally suited for candidates located in the Central or Eastern Time Zones of the United States, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the design of critical infrastructure projects for electric utilities.
  • • As a Substation P&C Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and preparation of essential protection and control drawings for high-voltage substations, ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of power delivery systems.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass a wide array of technical documentation, including the creation of Protective Schemes, Substation Relay One Lines and Three Lines diagrams, AC/DC Schematics, Substation Panel Layouts, Substation Wiring Diagrams and Cable Schedules, and SCADA and Communication Diagrams.
  • • You will be tasked with performing crucial DC Systems Calculations and AC Systems Calculations to ensure the integrity and optimal performance of substation equipment.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves the development of Equipment Specifications and the selection of appropriate components based on client criteria, ensuring that all designs meet stringent industry standards and client requirements.
  • • You will also be responsible for developing detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) that accurately reflect the design criteria and project scope.
  • • Effective collaboration is essential. You will coordinate closely with physical, settings, and drafting disciplines to guarantee the delivery of high-quality, cohesive project deliverables.
  • • This role requires active participation in client meetings, providing opportunities to engage directly with stakeholders and understand their needs.
  • • You will also be expected to perform site visits for data gathering as required, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of project specifics.
  • • Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables is a critical function, ensuring that procured equipment is seamlessly integrated into the overall design.
  • • A strong understanding and application of client standards related to the work are paramount, ensuring compliance and project success.
  • • You will provide essential field support during the construction phase, offering technical guidance and problem-solving expertise to the construction teams.
  • • A commitment to quality is non-negotiable. You will perform and ensure adherence to the company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes for all design packages, upholding ICF's reputation for excellence.
