- • The Sync Worker role at iCapital Network LLC is a Python Developer position focused on building robust, secure, and scalable web scraping solutions that interact with complex, authentication-protected portals. This role is critical for enabling reliable data extraction from enterprise systems, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- • Day to day, the person will design and implement scraping solutions using Python and Playwright, automate interactions with JavaScript-heavy sites including MFA and CAPTCHA handling, architect serverless pipelines on AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager), build fault-tolerant systems for high-volume data extraction, integrate workflows across multiple APIs and data sources, and contribute to architectural decisions and best practices.
- • The team operates within iCapital Network LLC, a financial technology company focused on alternative investment solutions, where innovation and collaboration are prioritized. Employees work in the Lisbon office four days a week with one remote day (Friday), fostering a hybrid environment that balances in-person teamwork with flexibility.
- • In this role, the person can deepen expertise in cloud-native automation, master advanced web scraping techniques with modern tooling, gain end-to-end ownership of scalable data pipelines, and contribute to impactful infrastructure that supports critical business functions — positioning them for growth in data engineering, DevOps, or backend specialization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in Python development with a strong focus on automation and data extraction
- • Proven expertise in web scraping using tools like Playwright, Selenium, Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, and requests
- • In-depth experience handling multi-step authentication flows including MFA, CAPTCHA solving, and session/cookie management
- • Proficient in deploying and managing scraping workloads in AWS, particularly Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager
- • Experience with asynchronous programming, headless browsers, and JavaScript-rendered content
- • Solid understanding of web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, cookies, headers) and ability to reverse-engineer network calls and authentication mechanisms
