- • Design, define, and analyze software system architectures for Arene, Toyota’s software-defined vehicle platform, ensuring alignment with safety, security, and performance requirements.
- • Collaborate with global engineering teams to translate high-level vehicle feature requirements into detailed, testable, and verifiable system specifications for software components and interfaces.
- • Lead systems engineering activities across the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and requirements gathering through integration, validation, and deployment.
- • Apply deep systems programming expertise to solve complex platform integration challenges involving cross-domain and cross-platform data orchestration in automotive environments.
- • Develop and maintain system-level documentation including interface control documents, data flow diagrams, and architectural decision records for Arene SDK components.
- • Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure system designs are implementable, scalable, and aligned with real-world vehicle constraints.
- • Evaluate and recommend technical solutions for integrating third-party software modules and middleware into the Arene platform while maintaining system integrity and security.
- • Participate in system-level risk assessments and failure mode analyses to ensure compliance with automotive safety standards and Toyota’s zero-accident mission.
- • Support the establishment and growth of the new Arene engineering center in Ann Arbor, MI by contributing to team structure, processes, and technical direction.
- • Engage with global stakeholders to align system design decisions across time zones, cultures, and technical domains, fostering a unified approach to vehicle software development.
- • Advocate for pragmatic application of systems engineering principles in agile and iterative software development environments without compromising safety or reliability.
- • Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks in software delivery pipelines that impact the performance, latency, or reliability of vehicle software features.
- • Stay current with emerging trends in automotive software, embedded systems, and real-time operating systems to continuously improve the Arene platform’s capabilities.
- • Serve as a technical liaison between hardware, software, and cloud teams to ensure seamless interoperability across the vehicle’s digital ecosystem.
- • Contribute to the definition of platform-wide standards for communication protocols, data models, and security policies used across Toyota’s next-generation vehicles.
