📋 Description
- • Glow25 GmbH is seeking a visionary and technically adept Systems Design and Integration Lead to architect the future of our core business systems. As a dynamic, fast-growing beauty and pro-aging company based in Berlin, our mission is to create 'Glow moments that last' for our community and our team. We foster an environment where work is inspiring, exciting, and fun, attracting empathetic individuals who take ownership and grow with us. This pivotal role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, requiring deep technical understanding to engage effectively with engineers, vendors, and implementation teams, while maintaining a steadfast focus on system-level design, decision quality, and sustainable long-term outcomes.
- • In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping how our diverse operational and commercial systems interoperate. Your primary responsibility will be to define robust integration patterns and a pragmatic target system architecture that supports our ambitious growth trajectory. You will serve as a critical escalation and decision-making layer, bridging the gap between business objectives and technical delivery teams, ensuring alignment and clarity across all stakeholders.
- • Key responsibilities include owning critical system-level technical decisions. This involves taking clear ownership of integration and system design choices, meticulously framing trade-offs across crucial factors such as cost, complexity, risk, speed of delivery, and long-term sustainability. You will be responsible for documenting these decisions comprehensively and ensuring they are clearly communicated, understood, and consistently applied throughout the organization. This proactive approach will prevent misinterpretations and ensure a unified direction.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be to establish a shared, coherent view of our evolving system landscape. You will be tasked with assessing our current, potentially fragmented, system architecture that has evolved organically over time. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying the highest-leverage areas for improvement, focusing on enhancing coherence and mitigating systemic risks. You will define a clear roadmap, articulating where to initiate improvements and the strategic rationale behind these choices, ensuring organizational alignment and buy-in.
- • You will be responsible for defining and enforcing integration patterns and essential guardrails. This includes establishing clear system boundaries and fundamental integration principles that promote modularity and resilience. The goal is to enable individual systems to evolve independently without introducing brittle dependencies or creating cascading failures. This will foster agility and reduce the risk of widespread disruption.
- • Managing long-term complexity and inherent risks within our system ecosystem is paramount. You will proactively identify potential failure modes and structural risks at an early stage, implementing preventative measures. A key objective is to prevent the silent accumulation of technical debt by embedding deliberate design considerations into every decision, ensuring the long-term health and maintainability of our systems.
- • Acting as a crucial technical counterpart to the business, you will translate high-level business objectives into sound, scalable technical structures. You will forge strong partnerships with leadership across Product, Operations, Finance, and Technology. Your role will involve constructively challenging proposals that may introduce unnecessary long-term costs or risks, ensuring that technical decisions align with strategic business goals and maintain architectural integrity.
- • You will collaborate closely with external vendors and internal delivery teams. This involves evaluating proposed system changes from a holistic, whole-system perspective, providing expert guidance and conducting thorough reviews. While you will not be directly owning delivery or day-to-day execution, your technical oversight will be critical in ensuring that implemented solutions adhere to the defined architectural vision and integration standards.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the technological foundation of a rapidly growing and innovative company. You will be empowered to make significant decisions that will shape our operational efficiency, scalability, and future technological direction. Your impact will be felt across the organization, contributing directly to our mission of redefining beauty and empowering our community.
