• • As a Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our messaging infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to become the ultimate expert on our systems, anticipating and proactively addressing potential issues before they impact our users. This involves a deep dive into the intricacies of various messaging protocols, understanding their behavior at scale, and engineering robust solutions to guarantee message delivery under all circumstances. You will be instrumental in maintaining the seamless operation of our platform, ensuring that every message, regardless of the channel or complexity, reaches its intended recipient.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks. You will meticulously investigate and gain profound knowledge of messaging protocols such as iMessage, RCS, and SMS, understanding their nuances and how they perform under high-volume conditions. A significant part of your role will involve designing, building, and executing comprehensive load tests to identify bottlenecks and understand protocol-specific rate limits. Based on these insights, you will engineer effective strategies to circumvent these limitations and ensure optimal throughput. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated fallback systems that guarantee message delivery even when primary channels encounter issues. Proactive monitoring and early detection of infrastructure anomalies, such as expiring certificates, performance degradations, or unexpected protocol changes, will be a key focus, allowing you to stay ahead of potential outages. You will collaborate closely with the broader engineering team, providing critical insights and solutions to enhance overall platform deliverability and user experience.
