đź“‹ Description
- • As a Systems Engineer IV (Broadcast & Live Production) at NETGEAR, you will serve as the critical technical bridge between NETGEAR’s networking solutions and the broadcast industry, ensuring products meet the rigorous demands of professional audio and video environments while driving market adoption and commercial growth.
- • You will validate and optimize NETGEAR’s switching solutions for real-world broadcast workflows, including AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST2110, NDI, IPMX, and PTP-sensitive environments, using lab infrastructure and testbeds to guarantee interoperability with leading OEM systems such as Riedel, EVS, Clear-Com, Panasonic, and Grass Valley.
- • You will partner with Sales, Business Development, and Alliances to identify new market opportunities, support major accounts, and engage system integrators by developing technical proposals, participating in customer meetings, and ensuring NETGEAR is included in early design stages of broadcast projects.
- • You will enable internal and external teams by creating technical training materials, documentation, and certification programs for regional SE teams and partners, ensuring consistent, accurate representation of NETGEAR’s capabilities in broadcast audio and IP video networks.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product Line Management and Engineering to escalate field requirements, translate customer needs into actionable product feedback, and influence roadmap decisions on features such as multicast behavior, QoS, redundancy models, PTP accuracy, and firmware behavior in timing-sensitive broadcast deployments.
- • You will represent NETGEAR at major industry events including NAB, IBC, and InfoComm by supporting white papers, solution guides, case studies, and press demonstrations, helping position the company as a trusted contributor to the industry’s migration to IP-based broadcast infrastructures.
- • You will design, troubleshoot, and validate end-to-end broadcast topologies including OB trucks, intercom systems, edge production networks, post-production facilities, and hybrid SDI/IP workflows, leveraging tools like waveform monitors, PTP analyzers, and network packet analyzers to ensure performance and reliability.
- • You will contribute to cross-functional governance models such as the Broadcast Steering Council, acting as a trusted advisor across Sales, PLM, Engineering, and Marketing to align technical execution with strategic broadcast initiatives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong technical foundation in IP networking fundamentals including VLANs, Layer-2/Layer-3 switching, multicast routing, IGMP snooping and querier behavior, QoS models, redundancy mechanisms, and network security concepts.
- • Hands-on experience with broadcast audio and video protocols such as AES67, Dante, Ravenna, SMPTE ST2110, NDI, IPMX, and PTP (including boundary and transparent clocks), along with real-time media transport requirements.
- • Practical knowledge of broadcast control and orchestration systems like NMOS, Evertz MAGNUM, Nevion VideoIPath, EVS Cerebrum, Riedel Director, or equivalent platforms.
- • Experience designing or supporting production facilities, intercom systems, OB trucks, post-production networks, or enterprise studios in broadcast environments.
- • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, executives, and partners, with strong presentation and customer-facing skills.
- • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate market needs into actionable product feedback and influence roadmap alignment.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work at the forefront of broadcast technology innovation, shaping how NETGEAR solutions are deployed in professional audio and video environments worldwide.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge broadcast standards and technologies including SMPTE ST2110, IPMX, PTP, and NMOS through hands-on lab work and field deployments.
- • Collaboration with industry-leading OEM partners such as Riedel, EVS, Clear-Com, Panasonic, and Grass Valley, building deep technical relationships in the broadcast ecosystem.
- • Professional growth through cross-functional engagement with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, developing both technical and business acumen.
- • Access to NETGEAR’s performance-driven culture that values innovation, collaboration, and employee development, with commitment to helping employees reach their next level of impact.
- • Participation in major industry events (NAB, IBC, InfoComm) and contribution to thought leadership through white papers, case studies, and technical demonstrations.
