📋 Description

  • As Systems Engineering Manager – Global Systems, you’ll lead a team of ~7 engineers to manage and optimize the core infrastructure that keeps things running smoothly across regions, ensuring systems and platforms are reliable, scalable, and efficient, playing a major part in the success of product releases.
  • You will lead people leadership by mentoring system engineers, building strong relationships, supporting growth through regular one-on-ones and feedback, and creating a positive, balanced work environment that boosts morale and performance.
  • You will exercise craft leadership by owning the technical direction for infrastructure systems management globally, aligning with company goals, contributing to product teams, and maintaining high standards through best practices in system design, maintenance, and optimization.
  • You will streamline delivery methods by elevating processes for smooth project execution, collaborating with product leads and other teams to align goals, timelines, and KPIs, and continuously improving delivery workflows.
  • You will act as a problem-solver by tackling challenges across people, processes, and technology, removing roadblocks, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring the team has what they need to stay productive and successful.
  • You will oversee performance management, including performance reviews, compensation, promotions, and leading recruiting and hiring efforts to build a strong, high-performing global team.
  • You will work with a modern tech stack including Linux (Debian and Alpine), containers & Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, nginx, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis/Keydb, ClickhouseDB, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.

🎯 Requirements

  • Engineering experience leading infrastructure teams (Linux, Windows, virtualization, Kubernetes) and delivering large-scale projects in distributed environments with a strong Linux systems background.
  • Leadership skills to motivate engineers, give clear feedback, and positively influence teams, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in complex, bare-metal environments (on-prem) with shifting priorities, bringing structure while balancing multiple stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to attract and hire strong engineers, build balanced teams, and support individual growth while aligning with business goals.
  • Clear communication skills to ensure alignment with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders in complex and evolving environments.
