- • Senior Back-end Engineer (Creator) role focused on building and maintaining production integrations with social platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and future platforms such as Stripe and email services, forming the data foundation for Toptal’s creator-facing product.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing a connector framework to abstract platform differences, building OAuth flows and queue-based data ingestion, operating connectors in production with monitoring and incident response, and partnering with product to define user-facing error handling.

🎯 Requirements
- • Four or more years of backend engineering experience with strong production work in Node.js or TypeScript and PostgreSQL
- • Shipped and maintained at least one production integration with YouTube Data API, Meta Graph API, or TikTok API (mandatory)
- • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, token rotation, rate limiting, retry strategies, exponential backoff, and queue-based architectures
- • Experience with a background job system in production (e.g., Inngest, Trigger.dev, BullMQ, Sidekiq, Temporal)
- • Operational mindset: experience on call for production systems, building for failure, and owning monitoring and incident response
- • Bonus: Experience with creator-economy tools (Stripe, Twilio, Salesforce), monitoring tools (Sentry, Datadog, Grafana), or infrastructure (Postgres tuning, AWS, Cloudflare, Supabase, Neon)
