📋 Description

• Own end-to-end tax compliance across multiple international territories, including filings, payments, accounting entries, and audit management for Paddle as a Merchant of Record.
• Drive transfer pricing policy development and execution, ensuring alignment with global tax regulations and Paddle’s commercial strategy.
• Lead R&D tax credit claims and associated documentation, leveraging technical expertise to maximize eligible benefits while maintaining compliance.
• Manage ad hoc tax queries from Paddle’s 6000+ software seller customers, acting as a trusted technical resource on cross-border tax implications.
• Plan and execute one-off tax projects such as establishing new corporate entities, registrations, or structural reorganizations in new jurisdictions.
• Oversee relationships with external tax advisors and agents, setting clear deliverables, timelines, and quality standards to ensure timely and accurate outcomes.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams to embed tax considerations into commercial decisions, product launches, and international expansion initiatives.
• Monitor and assess global tax legislative developments, providing proactive insights on potential impacts to Paddle’s tax position and business model.
• Coordinate and delegate workstreams using support from other tax managers and analysts within the 10-person global team to scale tax operations efficiently.
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
• Maintain high accuracy in complex tax modeling, reporting, and data analysis using large datasets in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Utilize tax technology systems such as NetSuite, SQL, or equivalent platforms to automate reporting, improve data integrity, and streamline compliance processes.
• Meet strict deadlines across multiple jurisdictions while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Act as a cross-functional partner to non-tax teams, translating complex tax concepts into actionable business insights for stakeholders at all levels.
• Contribute to shaping the future evolution of Paddle’s tax function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and strategic impact.
• Work remotely with a requirement to attend the London office 1–2 times per week to support team collaboration and culture.

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial experience in direct, indirect, or mixed tax roles within a multinational environment
• Recognized professional accounting and/or tax qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CTA)
• 3–10 years of post-qualification experience in a tax role with growing ownership and responsibility
• Strong working knowledge of multinational tax environments and cross-border tax compliance
• Proven experience managing relationships with external tax advisors and holding them accountable for delivery
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience managing complex, large-dataset spreadsheets in day-to-day work
