- • Lead the preparation and filing of all U.S. federal, state, and local corporate tax returns for CaseWare International Inc., ensuring full compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- • Manage the end-to-end tax compliance process including calendar planning, data collection, review, and timely submission of all U.S. tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- • Collaborate with internal finance, accounting, and legal teams to gather accurate and complete financial data required for tax reporting and analysis.
- • Monitor changes in U.S. tax legislation and regulatory guidance, assessing their impact on CaseWare’s tax position and advising leadership on strategic implications.
- • Prepare and maintain detailed tax workpapers, documentation, and supporting schedules to ensure audit readiness and internal control compliance.
- • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax audits, inquiries, and examinations by federal and state taxing authorities.
- • Analyze tax credits, incentives, and deductions to identify opportunities for tax savings and optimize the company’s effective tax rate.
- • Support international tax reporting requirements by providing U.S. tax data and insights to global tax teams, ensuring alignment with cross-border reporting obligations.
- • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the U.S. tax function as the company grows.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for all U.S. tax-related matters internally and externally, including with regulators, auditors, and third-party service providers.
- • Train and mentor junior accounting and tax staff on U.S. tax compliance procedures, software tools, and documentation standards.
- • Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing tax expense projections and modeling inputs based on current tax law and business plans.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRS guidelines, state tax authority rulings, and industry best practices in corporate tax compliance.
- • Ensure all tax-related systems, tools, and workflows are properly maintained and integrated with the company’s accounting and ERP platforms.
- • Represent CaseWare in tax-related communications with government agencies, maintaining a professional and compliant posture at all times.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal controls related to tax reporting and financial reporting processes.
- • Support ad-hoc tax analysis projects as needed, including mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, or international expansion initiatives.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality and data security protocols when handling sensitive financial and tax information.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field
- • Minimum of 5 years of progressive U.S. corporate tax experience, including preparation of federal and multi-state corporate tax returns
- • CPA license or active candidate status required
- • Proficiency in corporate tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or similar)
- • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IRS regulations
- • Experience working in a multinational corporate environment
