📋 Description
- • As Tech Lead, Core Product Engine (Backend) at Jerry Technologies Inc., you will lead the evolution of the company's core automation systems into a robust, fault-tolerant framework capable of scaling across new insurance categories with minimal manual intervention, directly impacting the end-to-end customer experience for over 5M users.
- • Day to day, you will spend 80% of your time in hands-on technical work, including refactoring legacy automation systems, designing new standards for decoupled architecture, pairing with engineers to ensure testability, and leading the transition toward an AI-first approach for internal tools to support growth from 5M to 50M users.
- • You will join a small, high-caliber team reporting directly to the co-founder/CTO, where ownership is paramount, red tape is minimal, and ideas can move from pitch to production in days, working alongside ex-founders who thrive on solving complex, real-world problems.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in asynchronous state management, system reliability, and AI-driven internal tooling while mastering the intricacies of insurance domain logic across diverse providers, positioning yourself as a systems thinker and builder at the forefront of insurtech innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience as a founder or lead architect at an early-stage startup
- • Strong systems thinking with expertise in offline, asynchronous job design, state management, and failure retry logic
- • Proficiency in TypeScript, Nest.js, GraphQL, and AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda)
- • Ability to hunt for edge cases in complex business logic and obsess over success rates
- • Track record of leading incremental refactoring of tightly coupled systems into predictable, testable architectures
