  • • Own the end-to-end customer journey for new prospects who contact PostHog via the website or through outbound outreach, guiding them from initial inquiry to closed deal and beyond.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical evaluation of PostHog’s product suite, including PostHog Code, PostHog AI, and the built-in data warehouse, ensuring customers understand how to implement and leverage these tools effectively.
  • • Conduct discovery calls with engineers, product managers, and founders to assess technical needs, identify use cases, and position PostHog as a superior alternative to existing tools.
  • • Manage multi-threaded sales cycles across technical, legal, and procurement teams within mid-market and enterprise organizations, navigating complex decision-making structures without relying on internal support teams.
  • • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships by acting as an extension of the customer’s team, responding promptly via Slack and other async channels, and removing adoption blockers.
  • • Convert inbound leads and execute creative, high-touch outbound campaigns to engage users from large companies who have self-signed up for PostHog but haven’t yet converted to paid plans.
  • • Accurately qualify leads by distinguishing between high-potential opportunities and low-fit prospects, prioritizing efforts to maximize conversion efficiency and pipeline velocity.
  • • Collaborate directly with product teams to relay customer feedback, feature requests, and pain points—bypassing bureaucracy to ensure insights drive product improvements.
  • • Structure and negotiate contract terms that align with customer needs and PostHog’s pricing model, ensuring proper sizing of licenses based on usage, team scale, and product adoption.
  • • Deliver personalized, high-quality communication through written follow-ups, Slack summaries, Loom videos, and evaluation plans—maintaining clarity and professionalism in an async-first environment.
  • • Adapt communication style and depth of technical detail depending on audience (e.g., engineer vs. executive), maintaining consistent quality across diverse customer contexts.
  • • Drive revenue growth by expanding usage within existing accounts, identifying upsell opportunities across PostHog’s product suite, and strategically saying no to customers who are not a good fit.
  • • Operate autonomously with full ownership of quota, managing time across prospecting, demos, evaluations, and customer support without micromanagement or scheduled meetings dominating your schedule.
  • • Work on a makers’ schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays are meeting-free, with communication defaults to PRs, async updates, and written documentation over real-time chat or calls.
  • • Avoid reliance on automation or volume-based outreach; instead, build authentic, white-glove relationships through creativity, relevance, and deep product expertise.
  • • Maintain mastery of PostHog’s entire product ecosystem, including feature flags, SDK implementation, data pipeline configuration, and SQL-based analytics, to advise customers on best practices and stack integration.
  • • Represent PostHog’s culture of transparency, weirdness, and ambition in every customer interaction, embodying the company’s values while driving commercial outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Ability to deeply understand PostHog’s technical products, including feature flags, data warehouse, SDKs, and AI tools, and advise customers on implementation and configuration
  • • Proven experience managing a book of business and leading multi-threaded, complex sales cycles across technical, legal, and procurement stakeholders
  • • Strong written communication skills for async, remote-first environments, including emails, Slack summaries, Loom scripts, and evaluation plans
  • • Commercial mindset focused on both acquiring new customers and expanding revenue within existing accounts through adoption and upsell
  • • High level of autonomy and comfort owning the full sales cycle from first contact to close and beyond
  • • Strong customer focus with ability to remove adoption blockers and act as a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson
