  • • As a Technical Account Manager at Buildkite, you will be instrumental in ensuring the technical success of our most valued enterprise clients. You will serve as the primary technical advisor post-sale, guiding customers from the initial onboarding phase through to deep platform adoption and scaling their usage. This role is critical to Buildkite's mission of unblocking developers worldwide by empowering them to build faster, test smarter, and innovate without limits. You will be the deepest technical resource available to a portfolio of high-value accounts, acting as a trusted authority on implementation, architecture, and the effective utilization of the Buildkite platform. Your expertise will directly contribute to customer retention, expansion, and overall satisfaction, solidifying Buildkite's position as a leader in the CI/CD space.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted and technically driven. You will lead the technical onboarding process for new enterprise clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration of Buildkite into their existing workflows. A significant part of your role will involve guiding customers on integration architecture, helping them design and implement solutions that maximize the value they derive from our platform. You will actively drive deep adoption of Buildkite across complex engineering environments, identifying opportunities for customers to leverage advanced features and best practices. A key aspect of your role will be conducting regular delivery reviews and executive briefings for VP Engineering and CTO-level stakeholders. In these sessions, you will translate complex platform findings into strategic business context, demonstrating the tangible impact of Buildkite on their development velocity and operational efficiency. You will proactively identify potential technical risks and blockers within your customer portfolio, as well as uncover opportunities for expansion, ensuring these are promptly communicated to the relevant internal teams. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Account Executives (AEs) to provide the technical credibility necessary to support renewals and expansion opportunities. While you won't hold commercial ownership, your technical insights and risk assessments will be invaluable to the commercial teams. You will act as a strong advocate for your customers internally, translating observed patterns and challenges across your portfolio into concrete product feedback and actionable roadmap input, thereby influencing the future direction of Buildkite.
  • • You will be an integral part of a growing and dynamic Customer Success team at Buildkite. This team is dedicated to ensuring our customers achieve their desired outcomes with our Scale-Out Delivery Platform. You will work alongside experienced CSMs and AEs who manage the commercial aspects of the customer relationship, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional technical value. Buildkite itself is a company trusted by industry leaders like Airbnb, Block, Canva, Elastic, Twilio, and Uber, highlighting the impact and reach of our platform. We are a remote-first organization, fostering a culture that supports work-life balance and collaboration across distributed teams. Your contributions will be valued in a supportive environment where innovation and expertise are encouraged.
  • • In this senior individual contributor role, you will have significant opportunities for professional growth and development. You will gain deep expertise in CI/CD platforms and DevOps tooling, working with some of the most innovative engineering teams in the tech industry. You will have the chance to mentor junior Technical Account Managers, contributing to the overall capability and knowledge base of the team and helping to raise the bar for technical account management at Buildkite. By building and contributing to technical playbooks and onboarding frameworks, you will leave a lasting impact on how Buildkite supports its customers. You will develop advanced skills in technical advisory, strategic communication with executive stakeholders, and understanding the intersection of technology and business outcomes. This role offers the chance to shape the technical success of enterprise clients and influence the product roadmap of a leading developer tools company, providing a challenging and rewarding career path.
  • • Furthermore, you will hone your ability to navigate ambiguity, creating structure and clarity in complex customer environments where ownership may be unclear and the optimal path forward is not immediately obvious. Your commercial awareness will deepen as you understand the direct correlation between your technical guidance and key business metrics such as renewal health, churn risk, and expansion potential. You will become adept at communicating technical strategies to both C-suite executives and hands-on engineering teams, a skill that is highly valued in the industry. This role is an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in CI/CD and DevOps, contributing to the advancement of engineering practices within our client organizations and within Buildkite itself. Your ability to advocate for customer needs internally will directly influence product development, ensuring Buildkite continues to meet and exceed the evolving demands of the market. The collaborative nature of the role, working with sales, customer success, and product teams, will provide a holistic understanding of the SaaS business landscape. You will be empowered to take ownership of technical relationships, driving proactive engagement and ensuring long-term customer success and loyalty. The continuous learning aspect, especially with emerging technologies and evolving customer needs, ensures that this role remains dynamic and intellectually stimulating, offering a clear path for career progression within a high-growth company.
