- • Own the technical accounting roadmap for 80+ newly acquired small businesses, translating each company’s existing books to Teamshares’ GAAP-compliant framework within 90 days of close. You will design policy-bridge memos, draft transition checklists, and train local controllers so every location can stand up to Big-4 scrutiny.
- • Lead monthly and quarterly compliance reviews across the network, building a repeatable analytics suite that flags out-of-policy revenue recognition, lease classification errors, and stock-comp expense anomalies before they reach the external auditors.
- • Drive the quarter-end and year-end close for the holding company and its subsidiaries, owning tie-outs, variance analysis, and flux commentary that lands on the CEO’s desk 48 hours after close. You will quarterback data requests from 100+ counterparties and distill complex issues into one-page executive summaries.
- • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors on technical matters—preparing PBC schedules, scoping memos, and technical white-papers on purchase-price allocations, earn-outs, and push-down accounting so fieldwork finishes ahead of schedule and fees stay flat.
- • Architect the ASC 842 lease accounting engine: extract key terms from every lease, build amortization schedules in LeaseAccelerator, and create an exception log that surfaces embedded leases and reassessment triggers for the controllership team.
- • Design and maintain the stock-based compensation model that tracks both legacy option plans and new Teamshares equity grants. You will automate quarterly true-ups, produce grant-date valuation support, and partner with Legal to ensure 409A compliance.
- • Build purchase-price accounting models for each acquisition, translating closing balance-sheet adjustments into opening equity schedules and ensuring every pre-close liability and indemnity is properly reflected in NetSuite and OneStream.
- • Conduct ad-hoc technical research on revenue recognition (ASC 606), debt modifications, hedge accounting, and foreign currency issues that surface as we expand into Canada and Mexico. Your memos will become the gold standard cited by FP&A, Tax, and Legal.
- • Continuously improve the close calendar, elimination-entry templates, and flux-dashboards so that each cycle is faster, cleaner, and more insightful than the last. You will mentor junior staff and create SOPs that survive your next promotion.
- • Champion a culture of curiosity and inclusion—host monthly "GAAP & Coffee" sessions where controllers swap war stories, and publish bite-size technical updates on Slack that keep the entire network fluent in the latest FASB developments.
