• • As a Technical Lead for the Data Platform & Storage at Rerun Technologies Inc., you will be at the forefront of building the next generation of data infrastructure for Physical AI. This is a unique opportunity to shape a cutting-edge, high-performance analytical system written in Rust and built upon the Apache Arrow columnar format. You are not just a manager; you are a hands-on architect and builder, deeply involved in the codebase, driving technical direction, and setting the standard for excellence within the engineering team.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to define and execute the technical vision for our data platform. This involves architecting robust storage solutions, making critical decisions about data abstractions, and translating these designs into tangible, high-quality code. You will be the go-to expert for storage systems, query execution, and overall data infrastructure, guiding your colleagues with your deep technical knowledge and practical experience.
• • You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and operationalizing core systems. This hands-on role requires you to write production-ready code, meticulously review pull requests to maintain code quality and consistency, expertly debug complex production issues, and make decisive architectural calls that will impact the platform's scalability and performance.
• • A key part of your role will be to develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) to rigorously validate new ideas and technical approaches. These POCs will serve as concrete blueprints, providing clear direction and a tangible target for the rest of the engineering team to rally around and build upon.
• • You will play a crucial role in defining the precise boundaries and interfaces between different components of our technology stack, including the data platform itself, the Software Development Kits (SDKs), and the lower-level layers. This clarity is essential for seamless integration and efficient development across the entire system.
• • Beyond internal contributions, you will be a key external representative of Rerun's innovative approach to data infrastructure. This includes engaging with the broader technical community through conferences, open-source contributions, and direct interactions with customers, articulating our vision and the value of our technology.
