Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Heidi’s integrations platform, including the integration framework, Integration Marketplace, and individual EMR/non-EMR connectors across Scribe, Comms, and Evidence
- • Decide which integrations to build, deepen, or deprecate by balancing customer demand, regional priorities, and engineering cost, ensuring platform scalability over one-off configurations
- • Serve as the central integration layer for all Heidi product lines, ensuring seamless connectivity between Heidi’s AI tools and external systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, MEDITECH Expanse, Veradigm, and Best Practice
- • Lead the migration of existing integrations to a new shared integration framework that enables sectional notes write-back, standardized error handling, analytics instrumentation, and multi-tenancy
- • Unify the Integration Marketplace into a single customer-facing experience for discoverability, multi-product setup, and closed-loop integration requests from growth and commercial teams
- • Translate real-world EMR behaviors—including HL7 ADT messages, FHIR resources, encounter IDs, addendum vs edit logic, sectional mapping, and version-specific API quirks—into precise, actionable product specifications for engineering
- • Establish and own standards for integration quality, reliability, latency, and recovery from upstream failures, holding the team accountable to clinical-grade performance
- • Act as the primary liaison between US, UK, and APAC regional teams, absorbing competing regional priorities and translating them into a coherent, scalable platform roadmap
- • Work directly with EHR vendors, integration engines, and platform teams to anticipate and respond to API changes, certification updates, and compliance requirements
- • Identify recurring integration gaps across multiple accounts or regions and consolidate them into platform-level fixes rather than bespoke configurations
- • Expand the integrations surface beyond EMRs to include document stores (SharePoint, GDrive, OneDrive), clinical reference systems, scheduling platforms, and secure messaging tools
- • Diagnose and resolve production integration failures by analyzing logs to distinguish between framework bugs, model issues, and customer-specific misconfigurations
- • Make daily build-vs-configure trade-offs with the engineering team, knowing when a customer request requires a platform enhancement versus a temporary workaround
- • Ship features that directly impact clinician workflow, such as pre-charting from appointment data, secure authentication via OAuth, and write-back confirmations that mirror real EMR behavior
- • Align commercial teams on integration feasibility by translating technical constraints into contract-ready requirements and managing customer expectations around scope and timelines
- • Drive adoption of the new integration framework by unblocking downstream product features, such as mobile parity and sectional notes functionality, through platform upgrades
- • Maintain a deep understanding of clinical documentation workflows in Cerner, Athena, and MEDITECH Expanse by observing clinicians in real settings and translating observations into actionable tickets
- • Advocate for reliability over speed, ensuring every integration meets Heidi’s standards of safety, trust, and clinical continuity
- • Utilize AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate product development and demonstrate tangible outputs created with these systems
- • Apply fluency in core LLM concepts (prompting, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation) to ensure AI-powered integrations are reliable, safe, and user-facing
- • Communicate with conviction but remain open to evidence: hold strong opinions on integration strategy while being willing to pivot based on customer feedback and technical reality
🎯 Requirements
- • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or related technical field
- • 4+ years in product, integrations, or technical roles with demonstrated shipping experience
- • Real fluency with healthcare interoperability standards: SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2 (ADT, ORM, ORU), FHIR resources, and OAuth flows for clinical apps
- • Proven experience shipping platform or framework products where solutions scale across multiple customers
- • Ability to diagnose integration failures via logs and distinguish framework issues from configuration errors
- • Comfort making daily build-vs-configure trade-offs with judgment to avoid technical debt
🏖️ Benefits
- • Flexible hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office
- • $500 annual personal development budget
- • Equity (shares) in the company
- • Opportunity to work alongside leading engineers and creatives in a diverse team
