đź“‹ Description

  • • Sardine Inc. is a leading innovator in fraud prevention and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, leveraging cutting-edge device intelligence, behavioral biometrics, machine learning, and AI to proactively stop fraud before it impacts businesses and consumers. Our robust platform is trusted by over 300 banks, retailers, and fintech companies globally to combat a wide array of threats, including identity fraud, payment fraud, account takeovers, and sophisticated social engineering scams. Having secured $145 million in funding from prominent investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Activant, Visa, Experian, FIS, and Google Ventures, we are poised for significant growth and impact.
  • • We foster a remote-first work culture, embracing the #WorkFromAnywhere philosophy. Our team is globally distributed, allowing individuals to find their most productive environment, whether it's from home, a cafe, or any location that inspires them. We prioritize hiring talented, self-motivated individuals who demonstrate extreme ownership and a high growth orientation. Our focus is on performance and results, not on arbitrary work hours, ensuring our team members can maintain a healthy work-life balance, attending to family, personal, and health needs without compromise.
  • • This pivotal role of Technical Professional Services Lead is an exceptional opportunity to establish and scale Sardine's professional services function from the ground up. You will be instrumental in building a comprehensive partner delivery network and cultivating certified integration partners capable of delivering a diverse range of customization services for our global key accounts. This is a high-impact, strategic position that sits at the critical intersection of post-sales operations, finance, and client success.
  • • Your core responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of custom professional services engagements. This includes collaborating closely with sales, post-sales, product, and engineering teams to meticulously translate complex client needs into well-defined project scopes. You will be responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and expertly managing a network of specialized contractors and consultants who will execute these custom Statement of Work (SOW) engagements. The role demands ownership of these projects from initial scoping and contractor selection through to successful delivery and accurate billing, with an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality, on-time execution, and healthy profit margins.
  • • Key activities will involve drafting and managing SOWs for various client needs, including complex customizations, white-label solutions, bespoke builds, and change orders. You will partner with sales and post-sales teams to accurately scope these engagements, clearly defining deliverables, realistic timelines, and measurable success criteria. A significant part of the role will be planning, coordinating, and driving the delivery of large-scale projects for our global key accounts, utilizing both in-house resources and our growing network of outsourced contractors and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
  • • A strategic imperative for this role is the development and launch of a SardineAI preferred/certified Integration Partner program. This involves building and diligently maintaining a vetted network of specialized contractors and consultants with proven expertise in delivering custom fintech implementations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end contractor management process: sourcing, screening, onboarding new talent, negotiating favorable rates, and establishing Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • • You will excel at matching contractor skills and availability to incoming project requirements, ensuring the right expertise is deployed for each unique client need. Performance management of contractors will be crucial, including providing constructive feedback and implementing a robust quality scorecard system. Ensuring all contractors adhere to the stringent compliance, security, and regulatory requirements inherent in the financial services industry is paramount.
  • • Overseeing project execution to guarantee on-time, on-budget, and on-quality delivery will be a daily focus. You will serve as the primary escalation point for any project-related issues or client concerns, resolving them efficiently and effectively. Conducting thorough project retrospectives and embedding continuous improvement practices into the professional services workflow will be essential for scaling and optimizing operations.
  • • Financial acumen is key, as you will own the end-to-end billing process for contractor engagements, encompassing time tracking, invoice review, and payment processing. Managing project budgets, meticulously tracking margins, and reporting on the profitability of the professional services portfolio will be critical. Close coordination with finance and accounting departments is necessary to ensure accurate revenue recognition and timely contractor payables.
  • • Furthermore, you will be tasked with building and refining operational processes, implementing efficient tools, and developing standardized templates to effectively scale the professional services function. The creation and maintenance of comprehensive reporting dashboards to monitor key metrics such as contractor utilization, project health, and overall financial performance will be vital for strategic decision-making and demonstrating the value of the professional services team.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or Product Management, with a significant portion focused on technical project delivery.
  • • 3-5+ years of experience in hiring, leading, and managing teams or networks of external resources (contractors/consultants) within high-growth environments.
  • • Deep domain expertise in payments, fintech, fraud prevention, AML/KYC, or regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
  • • Demonstrated experience in technical project scoping, financial operations, including the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and managing project profitability and P&L.
  • • Technical fluency to oversee and drive to resolution frontend, backend, and SQL-heavy technical projects, with the ability to effectively manage technical resources.
  • • Superior critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the proven ability to source, vet, and seamlessly integrate external expertise (contractors/consultants) into a high-quality delivery engine.
  • • Exceptional executive-level presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and persuasively, and to command a room during client or internal stakeholder meetings.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Generous compensation package including competitive base salary, significant equity with tremendous upside potential, and early exercise options for all options, including pre-vested.
  • • Fully remote work environment with a flexible, remote-first culture, allowing you to work from anywhere.
  • • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) policy and a dedicated year-end break to ensure work-life balance.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and their dependents (US and Canada specific).
  • • 4% 401k / RRSP matching program to support long-term financial planning (US and Canada specific).
  • • Company-provided MacBook Pro and a one-time stipend to set up an ergonomic and productive home office (desk, chair, screen, etc.).
  • • Monthly stipends for meals and social meet-ups to support well-being and team connection, plus an annual health and wellness stipend.
  • • Annual Learning stipend to encourage continuous professional development and skill enhancement.
