- • Assist in managing Constellation Services development initiatives from formulation through operations, ensuring alignment with commercial space mission objectives.
- • Support the quality and viability of the Pelican and Tanager mission lines by helping deliver new ground station system capabilities.
- • Learn and develop knowledge of ground segment architecture and contribute to cross-functional efforts across engineering and product teams.
- • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering teams (Space Systems, Software Engineering), and other stakeholders to scope, plan, and execute development projects.
- • Communicate project progress, priorities, and risks to internal stakeholders across the organization through documentation and status updates.
- • Facilitate information sharing and technical discussions between engineering, product, and operational teams to maintain alignment on program goals.
- • Work under the guidance of senior TPMs to develop and maintain program plans, assist with project scheduling, and track key milestones.
- • Gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through deployment and operations, within a dynamic space technology environment.
- • Support technical analyses and translate findings into clear recommendations for leadership to inform prioritization and investment decisions.
- • Contribute to the strategic development of Constellation Services by understanding how technology decisions impact Planet’s commercial objectives.
- • Operate in a hybrid model, working approximately three days per week at the San Francisco headquarters to collaborate in person with cross-functional teams.
- • Engage with export-controlled information and adhere to U.S. export compliance requirements including ITAR and EAR.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2-4 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Product Management, or a related field (or equivalent project coordination experience).
- • Proven experience assisting with cross-functional projects and managing timelines with strong attention to detail.
- • Familiarity with engineering projects or technical environments.
- • Eligible for U.S. Export Control licenses such as ITAR and EAR.
- • Foundational knowledge of project management practices and tools.
- • Interest in or exposure to aerospace, ground stations, software, or space systems.
