- • Sony Electronics Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Support representative to join our team, focusing on the East Coast territory. This full-time, remote position is ideal for individuals passionate about entertainment technology, with a strong background in custom installation and a knack for engaging diverse audiences. You will play a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships with Sony dealers and installers, driving sales, and ensuring a superior customer experience.
- • As a Technical Sales Support representative, your primary mission will be to create a strong "Sony first" mentality among dealers in your assigned territory. You will achieve this by providing comprehensive sales support, maximizing product sales, and building beneficial relationships with company principals, sales teams, and installers. Your expertise will be crucial in educating dealer personnel on Sony products, empowering them to sell and install the Sony product line effectively.
- • A key aspect of this role involves analyzing daily and weekly sales data to develop and implement strategies that maintain and improve sell-through rates. You will be responsible for hosting engaging training sessions, both virtually and in-person, for dealers and distributors, ensuring they are up-to-date on product features, benefits, and sales techniques.
- • You will act as a consultative partner to Sony dealers, offering support and collaborating to achieve sales objectives. This includes monitoring demo product inventory, ensuring products are prominently displayed on selling floors, and representing Sony as a brand ambassador at national, regional, and local industry and dealer events. Your ability to conduct compelling demonstrations and directly assist dealers by answering questions and providing solutions will be highly valued.
- • Furthermore, you will be instrumental in gathering, summarizing, and reporting on field and channel feedback and insights. This information will be vital for product development and market strategy. You will also manage demo samples and facilitate product evaluations across the sales territory, ensuring dealers have access to the latest technology.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with other Regional Managers and Technical Sales Support (TSS) personnel to achieve group goals and deliver a consistent, high-quality dealer experience nationwide. You will serve as a primary point of contact for dealers, assisting with troubleshooting and directing them to the appropriate resources, whether it's correct settings or the service team.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the Custom Installation (CI) channel and related products. You should be adept at system design assistance, data collection, and educating both associates and customers. Your enthusiasm for entertainment technology and your commitment to delivering the "Sony Experience" to dealers and their customers will be essential for success.
- • This role requires a proactive and sales-focused individual with the ability to influence others and execute strategies with a clear focus on Return on Investment (ROI). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount, enabling you to build strong, collaborative relationships and engage effectively with all levels of dealer and market personnel.
- • You will need strong decision-making skills, with the ability to solve problems creatively, effectively, and efficiently, often independently. A willingness to take ownership of your business, learn continuously, plan strategically, and implement necessary actions to achieve success is expected.
- • The role involves significant travel, up to 60% of the time, and requires flexibility to work weekends and nights for product launch events, dealer events, and sales and training events, including major industry shows like CES and CEDIA. You must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and must reside within the assigned sales territory (East Coast).
- • Sony Electronics is committed to fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, offering innovative work-life balance opportunities such as a hybrid home/office workplace, monthly “Free Fridays,” and early shutdowns on Fridays throughout the year. We aim to fill the world with emotion through the power of creativity and technology, and we invite you to be a part of this exciting mission.
