- • Serve as the primary technical owner for escalated Drone as First Responder (DFR) issues spanning drones, docks, command-and-control software, video streaming, DAA behavior, and third-party integrations.
- • Perform deep log-level investigations using observability and troubleshooting tools to diagnose complex hardware and software failures in live and test environments.
- • Translate technical root cause analyses into clear, actionable engineering-ready defect reports and customer-facing resolution summaries.
- • Troubleshoot end-to-end DFR workflows including pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight operations across FlockOS, CAD, VMS, DAA, and public safety IT systems.
- • Identify recurring technical patterns and proactively strengthen internal knowledge bases to accelerate resolution times for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
- • Maintain and update troubleshooting documentation and knowledge base content to ensure accuracy and accessibility across the DFR support organization.
- • Collaborate with Aviation Engineering, Technical Account Managers, Safety, Product, and deployment teams to bridge technical findings with operational needs.
- • Participate in crash post-mortems and incident reviews alongside Safety teams to improve system reliability and response protocols.
- • Act as a technical liaison between customer-facing teams and internal engineering teams, translating complex issues into digestible communication paths.
- • Support scheduled on-call rotations to respond to urgent DFR operational incidents and ensure customer mission-readiness.
- • Independently own and drive resolution of ambiguous, undocumented issues without predefined playbooks, partnering with Engineering to validate root causes.
- • Contribute to improving escalation quality, handoff processes, and support workflows based on operational learnings and customer impact analysis.
- • Achieve full operational proficiency in DFR platform components—including drones, radar systems, docking stations, and video streaming infrastructure—within the first 30 days.
- • Begin independently managing a portfolio of DFR technical support cases by day 60, driving investigation, communication, and resolution without direct oversight.
- • By 90 days, become a trusted resource for high-impact DFR escalations and help shape the future-state support model through scalable process improvements.
🎯 Requirements
- • FAA Part 107 certification required, or ability to obtain and maintain it quickly in role
- • 4+ years of advanced technical support, technical operations, or systems troubleshooting experience in complex hardware/software environments
- • Strong technical troubleshooting skills including log analysis, failure interpretation, issue isolation, and problem reproduction
- • Hands-on familiarity with drones, docks, radar, video streaming systems, and integrated public safety workflows
- • Experience writing clear, engineering-ready defect reports with actionable reproduction details
- • Must be available for occasional, scheduled on-call support
