- • As a Technology Counsel at Brown & Brown Insurance, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s legal and risk management functions by advising on data security, privacy laws, AI regulations, and cybersecurity compliance, while guiding technology transactions and intellectual property matters to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating technology contracts for third- and fourth-party vendors, supporting enterprise risk and compliance teams in developing data protection strategies, monitoring emerging U.S. and international AI and cybersecurity regulations, managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio, and providing legal guidance on SaaS, software licensing, and cloud service agreements.
- • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including enterprise risk management, regulatory, data privacy, and compliance units, lead internal training initiatives on privacy and cybersecurity obligations, and assist incident response teams in ensuring legal compliance during breach notifications and regulatory filings.

🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active licensure to practice law
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber-technologies or cybersecurity, including regulatory compliance, incident response, data protection, vulnerability management, supply chain security, and insider threats
- • Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating third- and fourth-party technology contracts, including SaaS, software licensing, and cloud service agreements
- • Working knowledge of key data privacy and security regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, NY DFS Part 500, SEC Cybersecurity Rules, and other state-specific privacy laws
- • Proven ability to collaborate across divisions, influence stakeholders, and lead training initiatives on legal, privacy, and cybersecurity obligations
- • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
