- • Develop accurate cost estimates for telecommunications construction projects, focusing on fiber optic and outside plant (OSP) infrastructure deployments.
- • Analyze project documentation including construction drawings, fiber network designs, and technical specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, fiber optic cables, cabling, infrastructure components, specialized equipment, tools, and subcontractor services.
- • Create and submit competitive bid proposals aligned with project scope, timelines, and resource needs to secure new contracts.
- • Evaluate project scope and complexity to identify potential cost drivers, risks, and opportunities for cost efficiency and profitability.
- • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of cost estimates.
- • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards for accuracy, consistency, and profitability targets.
- • Translate complex technical designs into clear, quantifiable cost models that support decision-making across departments.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing for fiber optic materials, labor rates, and equipment costs in the telecommunications construction sector.
- • Track and document assumptions, variables, and dependencies used in each estimate to support auditability and future reference.
- • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site assessments to validate project conditions and refine estimate accuracy.
- • Adapt estimation methodologies based on project type, including FTTH, backbone networks, and utility infrastructure deployments.
- • Support post-bid analysis by comparing estimated costs against actual project expenditures to improve future forecasting.
- • Maintain organized records of all submitted proposals, revisions, and client feedback for internal review and compliance.
- • Work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
- • Communicate estimation rationale clearly to non-technical stakeholders to facilitate alignment and approval processes.
- • Identify opportunities to optimize material usage, labor scheduling, and subcontractor selection to enhance project margins.
- • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting telecom infrastructure costs and deployment practices.
