This pivotal role within our physician-owned professional corporation empowers you to leverage your extensive clinical expertise to evolve the traditional care ecosystem, equipping innovative companies with a premier platform for scalable virtual healthcare.
  • • You will be instrumental in providing both asynchronous and synchronous virtual care, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective treatment regardless of their location. This involves meticulously reviewing comprehensive patient intake information, including detailed medical histories, current medication lists, and patient-submitted visual data, to make safe and appropriate prescribing decisions.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to conducting thorough clinical assessments, strictly adhering to Wheel's established clinical guidelines. You will utilize specialized clinical snippets and streamlined workflows to tailor education and treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives personalized care.
  • • A key aspect of this role is the responsible prescribing of medications. You will ensure all prescriptions align with patient eligibility criteria, formulary guidance, and critical safety parameters, such as blood pressure ranges, potential drug contraindications, and the identification of clinical red flags.
  • • Accurate and comprehensive documentation is paramount. You will meticulously document each patient encounter using a structured SOAP note format, clearly outlining the rationale for prescribing or referring, detailed patient counseling provided, and essential follow-up recommendations.
  • • Effective and compassionate communication is vital. You will engage with patients through secure messaging or live video visits, maintaining a professional, empathetic, and supportive web-side manner at all times.
  • • You will be responsible for identifying and referring patients to in-person care when their clinical presentation does not meet established guidelines. This includes clearly documenting the rationale for the referral and providing explicit instructions to the patient.
  • • Maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance is expected. You will actively incorporate feedback from periodic chart audits and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
  • • Patient safety is a top priority. You will be required to escalate urgent clinical concerns, such as suicidal ideation or instances of harassment, promptly and according to established platform protocols, thereby ensuring both patient well-being and clinician protection.
  • • Collaboration with Wheel’s dedicated clinical operations team is essential for seamless onboarding, ongoing platform support, and staying abreast of guideline updates, all contributing to the consistent delivery of high-quality virtual care.
  • • This role offers the unique opportunity to work with multiple telehealth companies through a single, integrated platform. Wheel handles the complexities of credentialing, onboarding, and administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on patient care and maximize your earning potential.
  • • You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule, working evenings, part-time, or full-time hours to suit your lifestyle, while committing to 36 clinic hours per week between 8 am and 8 pm CST, including one weekend shift.
  • • Furthermore, you will dedicate approximately 4 hours per week to NP supervision, with your weekly clinic hours adjusted accordingly to accommodate this important mentoring responsibility.
  • • The role requires the ability to perform both synchronous (live video) and asynchronous (messaging-based) consultations, offering a versatile approach to patient care.
  • • You will be part of a supportive and collaborative clinician community, sharing insights and best practices within the virtual care space.
  • • Wheel provides comprehensive clinical, operational, administrative, and technical support, including malpractice insurance with tail coverage, ensuring you are well-equipped and protected.
  • • You will utilize a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform designed for ease of use, featuring integrated video conferencing, scheduling, and patient information tools.
  • • Wheel rigorously vets all telehealth company partners for clinical safety and adherence to standards of care, providing an additional layer of protection for your clinical practice.
  • • This position is 100% remote, allowing you to deliver care from the comfort and safety of your home or office.
  • • You will have the opportunity to gain experience in diverse care areas, including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Weight Management, Dermatology, and Pediatrics.
