- • As a Senior Telephony Engineer at HappyRobot AI Inc., you will play a critical role in designing, integrating, and managing enterprise-grade telephony infrastructure that powers seamless voice communication for both customers and internal teams. Your work will directly support the company’s mission to build an AI-native operating system for the real economy by ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure voice systems that enable mission-critical operations in supply chain and industrial environments.
- • You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of telephony platforms including NICE CXone, RingCentral, and Genesys, driving integration with CRMs, internal tools, and workflow systems while optimizing call flows, IVRs, routing logic, and contact center performance to deliver world-class communication experiences.
- • You will join a high-intensity, fast-paced engineering team at a well-funded AI startup backed by Y Combinator, Andreessen Horowitz, and Base10, where talent density, extreme ownership, and first-principles thinking are core operating principles that drive innovation and impact.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and maintaining cloud-based and hybrid voice infrastructures, leading platform integrations via APIs and middleware, optimizing contact center performance metrics, collaborating with IT and support teams to align voice systems with business processes, providing technical leadership in troubleshooting voice quality and interoperability issues, managing vendor relationships and SLAs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards, and creating comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and procedures.
- • You will work with scripting and automation tools like Python and PowerShell to streamline voice workflows and monitoring, apply deep knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), PBX systems, and call routing logic, and contribute to high-availability, scalable systems in enterprise environments.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in telephony engineering or voice infrastructure roles
- • Strong hands-on experience with NICE CXone, RingCentral, Genesys Cloud, or similar enterprise telephony platforms
- • Deep understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), call routing, PBX systems, and contact center technologies
- • Experience with system integration via APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms (e.g., Zapier, MuleSoft)
- • Comfortable with scripting or automation tools (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for voice workflows or monitoring
- • Strong troubleshooting skills across networks, voice quality issues, and platform interoperability
- • Experience working in enterprise environments with high availability and scalability needs
- • Excellent communication and documentation skills
