đź“‹ Description

  • • Lyte, Inc. is at the forefront of developing advanced perception systems for Physical AI, designed to operate seamlessly in complex, real-world environments. We are a dynamic company that integrates custom silicon, sophisticated sensors, and intelligent software into a unified platform, driving innovation in robotics, mobility, and next-generation automation. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with a growing global presence, Lyte is the place for individuals passionate about building impactful technology in a hands-on, fast-paced setting. If you are driven by the challenge of creating cutting-edge solutions and thrive in a collaborative atmosphere, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity.
  • • We are seeking a highly experienced Process Lead Engineer specializing in optical device packaging and assembly. This pivotal role requires a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical field. You will be instrumental in leading the assembly of optical engines and system modules, focusing on the design and implementation of automation and tooling. Your efforts will directly contribute to increasing Units Per Hour (UPH) and overall yield, while simultaneously reducing costs through both customized hardware and software development. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive improvements in process capability (Cp) and Cpk.
  • • You will provide critical support to our Research and Development (R&D) and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, contributing to mechanical design, detailed drawing creation, and thermal modeling for device packaging. Furthermore, you will play a significant role in the automation of device testing and the development and implementation of data analysis scripts or software, ensuring efficient and accurate data handling.
  • • A core responsibility will be to collaborate closely with R&D to thoroughly understand device specifications, with a particular emphasis on mechanical control outlines and assembly requirements. You will act as a key negotiator, balancing incoming device Mechanical Control Outlines (MCOs), mechanical design considerations, and assembly processes, informed by design improvements and experimental data derived from designed experiments (DOEs).
  • • You will work extensively with our Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners, supporting both NPI and high-volume production. This includes the technical drafting of Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure clear expectations and successful collaboration with contract manufacturers.
  • • As the technical project manager for your assigned projects, you will be responsible for their end-to-end success. This involves meticulous planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
  • • You will provide essential Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Testability (DFT) input to our HQ R&D teams, influencing the design of device packaging and assembly processes from the outset to ensure optimal production outcomes.
  • • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation is crucial. You will be responsible for initiating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Product Change Notices (PCNs) as required, ensuring that all process and design modifications are properly managed and communicated.
  • • You will develop and meticulously track specifications for packaging and assembly components, as well as manage associated inventory. Regular audits of our contract manufacturers and suppliers are a key part of this role, followed by the submission of detailed reports to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • • The ability to articulate technical findings clearly is essential. You will be responsible for writing detailed technical reports and presenting your results and recommendations to both internal teams and external stakeholders, fostering understanding and driving informed decision-making.
  • • A significant part of this role involves building and growing the Operations Process Team on a global scale. This includes mentoring, training, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring Lyte has the talent and expertise to meet its operational goals.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of physical AI perception systems by ensuring robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and reliability of Lyte’s groundbreaking products.
