  • • As a TMS Compliance Lead Analyst at Coinbase, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our financial ecosystem by meticulously investigating and analyzing transaction monitoring alerts related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and fraud.
  • • Your primary responsibility will involve conducting in-depth investigative reviews to ensure adherence to Coinbase's robust AML regulatory compliance policies and programs.
  • • This includes scrutinizing automated alerts generated by our sophisticated transaction monitoring systems, as well as investigating referrals originating from law enforcement agencies and other internal Coinbase business units.
  • • You will be tasked with analyzing complex transaction activities, cross-referencing them with Know Your Customer (KYC) information, and performing thorough due diligence research to support your investigations.
  • • A critical aspect of your role will be to meticulously document all findings and investigative steps in clear, concise written narratives, ensuring a comprehensive audit trail.
  • • Based on your analysis, you will make informed decisions regarding whether specific activities warrant escalation for further review.
  • • Subsequently, you will recommend whether suspicious activity necessitates the filing of a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR), a crucial step in regulatory compliance.
  • • Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation is paramount to demonstrate ongoing compliance with all relevant regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • • You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest industry standards, emerging trends, and regulatory developments in the fields of KYC, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • • This knowledge will be actively applied to your case investigations, ensuring that Coinbase remains at the forefront of compliance best practices.
  • • The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within transaction flows and customer activities.
