Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the Tokens-as-a-Service (TaaS) initiative to convert industrial-scale infrastructure investments into usable token capacity for OpenAI’s frontier AI workloads, bridging physical infrastructure delivery with compute utilization outcomes.
- • Own end-to-end execution of complex compute programs, transforming raw infrastructure (power, space, hardware) into operational GPU throughput by coordinating across data center delivery, power, networking, hardware deployment, workload enablement, finance, and external partners.
- • Build integrated execution plans spanning construction, power energization, rack deployment, networking, cluster readiness, and workload onboarding; drive external providers, EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and strategic partners toward aggressive timelines.
- • Develop repeatable deployment models, operating cadences, dashboards, forecasts, and executive reporting to enable scalable industrial compute expansion and ensure capacity becomes productive tokens as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- • Operate at the intersection of infrastructure delivery, hardware systems, utilities, supply chain, and capacity strategy, ensuring OpenAI can scale compute faster than traditional models allow through elite program leadership and systems thinking.
- • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments by leading hyperscale infrastructure programs, translating technical execution into business outcomes, and maintaining momentum under pressure while escalating intelligently.
- • Collaborate with infrastructure engineering, hardware, networking, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to align capacity delivery with AI training and inference workload demands.
- • Drive accountability across internal teams and strategic partners to resolve bottlenecks between physical delivery and usable compute output, ensuring reliable compute capacity for frontier AI.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading hyperscale infrastructure, data center, manufacturing, or industrial deployment programs at scale.
- • Deep understanding of how power, hardware, networking, and software integrate to produce usable compute capacity, particularly in GPU cluster or AI infrastructure contexts.
- • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with engineers, operators, executives, and external partners in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing multi-billion-dollar infrastructure or capacity programs.
- • Background in program management, operations leadership, capacity delivery, or strategic infrastructure execution, including familiarity with utilities, construction, commissioning, networking, hardware deployment, or cluster bring-up.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to shape the foundational compute infrastructure powering OpenAI’s frontier AI research and deployment mission.
- • Work at the cutting edge of industrial-scale AI infrastructure, solving unprecedented challenges in scaling compute for general-purpose artificial intelligence.
- • Collaborate with world-class teams across engineering, operations, finance, and strategic partners in a mission-driven, innovative culture.
- • Access to OpenAI’s commitment to safety, inclusivity, and equitable AI development, with robust support for employee growth and well-being.
- • Competitive compensation and benefits package aligned with OpenAI’s status as a leader in AI research and deployment.
