UI Software Engineer

📋 Description

• • The UI Software Engineer is a hands‑on front‑end developer responsible for designing, prototyping, and building intuitive, user‑centered interfaces that improve laboratory workflows and end‑user efficiency across Precision for Medicine’s Translational Sciences applications, including Precision LIMS, Lab ePortal, Logistics ControlTower, and custom-built systems.
• • Day to day, the engineer will build and enhance user interfaces, develop rapid prototypes using Figma and Figma Make, implement clean responsive front‑end code, translate wireframes into functional components, support troubleshooting of UI issues in production, administer and optimize third‑party components like Handsontable, conduct UI testing and accessibility reviews, and collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and validate user workflows.
• • The role sits within a small, collaborative development team supporting critical laboratory and operational applications, partnering closely with Business Analysts and key business stakeholders to iterate rapidly and translate user needs into production‑ready front‑end experiences.
• • The engineer will deepen expertise in AI‑assisted design tools (e.g., Figma Make), gain experience in regulated life sciences environments, strengthen full‑stack front‑end skills with Vue.js and React, and contribute to improving user adoption through training content and usability validation, advancing both technical and UX impact in healthcare technology.
