- • Own the entire underwriting lifecycle for 1st-lien, non-owner-occupied, business-purpose loans—ranging from fix-and-flip and bridge to ground-up construction—ensuring every file meets Marshall Reddick’s collateral-based, common-sense lending guidelines while closing in days, not weeks.
- • Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team of Investment Analysts; provide daily direction, quarterly goal-setting, and real-time feedback so that pipeline velocity never compromises credit quality.
- • Act as the final credit authority on escalated or exception-based deals, balancing risk appetite with revenue goals, and documenting every decision for audit, investor, and regulatory transparency.
- • Continuously monitor a live pipeline of 20-30 concurrent loans, using LOS dashboards and CRM analytics to flag bottlenecks, re-allocate resources, and hit aggressive funding deadlines without surprises.
- • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with loan officers, processors, and third-party vendors—appraisers, title, insurance, and legal—to ensure seamless handoffs from pre-qual to closing table.
- • Review and interpret borrower credit, entity documentation, rehab budgets, rent rolls, appraisals, environmental reports, and title commitments, synthesizing complex data into concise risk memos for executive leadership.
- • Design, document, and iterate on underwriting SOPs, checklists, and policy manuals that scale with a rapidly growing balance sheet and evolving investor mandates.
- • Deliver weekly executive risk reports: delinquency trends, geographic concentration, LTV migration, and early-payment defaults, turning raw data into actionable strategy.
- • Spearhead quarterly training bootcamps for new analysts and cross-functional partners, embedding a culture of speed, accuracy, and customer empathy across the Private Lending division.
- • Champion technology adoption—LOS enhancements, automated valuation models, and data-capture improvements—that shave hours off each underwrite while tightening risk controls.
- • Represent the underwriting team in investor audits, regulatory exams, and fund-level board presentations, articulating credit philosophy and performance metrics with confidence and clarity.
- • Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and fund-level compliance requirements, partnering with legal counsel to interpret new legislation and embed controls before deadlines hit.
- • Cultivate a feedback-rich environment where analysts feel safe escalating tough deals, iterating on credit memos, and celebrating wins that fund real estate investors’ next big project.
- • Translate complex underwriting decisions into plain-English explanations for borrowers and brokers, reinforcing Marshall Reddick’s reputation for transparency and speed.
- • Drive post-close loan reviews, identifying patterns that inform future guideline tweaks and pricing adjustments, ensuring the portfolio remains profitable and investor returns exceed targets.
- • Balance competing priorities daily—urgent loan approvals, team development, investor updates, and system enhancements—while keeping cool under pressure and modeling resilience for your team.
