đź“‹ Description
- • As the US Head of Manufacturing at Harmattan AI Inc., you will lead the establishment and scaling of the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the United States, a critical function enabling rapid expansion and delivery of advanced defense technologies to U.S. allied forces following a $200M Series B funding round and $1.4B valuation.
- • You will build and manage Harmattan AI’s U.S. manufacturing ecosystem through industrial partners and internal operations, ensuring alignment with global industrial strategy, quality standards, and operational best practices while working in close coordination with the Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to develop and deploy the U.S. manufacturing roadmap.
- • Day to day, you will develop and execute the U.S. manufacturing strategy in alignment with global objectives, establishing a scalable and resilient industrial footprint to support rapid growth, including structuring and managing manufacturing partnerships and production capabilities to ensure reliable, high-quality output.
- • You will direct the setup and operation of production capabilities in the United States, ensuring consistent quality standards and on-time delivery, oversee manufacturing execution, optimize production processes to meet scaling demands in dynamic, high-pressure environments, and monitor and improve key performance indicators such as throughput, yield, production cost, and quality.
- • You will develop and maintain relationships with U.S.-based manufacturing partners, suppliers, and industrial stakeholders, coordinate with global supply chain teams to ensure alignment with procurement and sourcing strategies, and manage production planning, logistics, and inventory flows to ensure reliable product delivery while contributing to a resilient and scalable U.S. industrial ecosystem.
- • You will identify opportunities to streamline workflows and boost operational efficiency by implementing Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase throughput, and enhance product quality, and implement structured processes to improve manufacturing reliability and operational performance.
- • You will serve as a key liaison between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance for manufacturing-related activities in the U.S., partner with R&D teams to ensure manufacturability and industrial scalability of new systems, and support engineering teams in adapting designs for efficient and reliable large-scale production.
- • You will ensure all manufacturing activities comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and quality standards (ISO, AS9100, or other defense-related certifications), maintain robust risk management processes to proactively identify and mitigate potential production or supply chain issues, and support compliance with U.S. defense and industrial regulatory frameworks where applicable.
- • You will build and lead the U.S. manufacturing organization as Harmattan AI expands its operations in the region, recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing teams, set clear objectives, manage performance, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
- • You will support Harmattan AI’s expansion in the U.S. by ensuring manufacturing capabilities scale with commercial and operational demand, contribute to the development of strategic industrial partnerships and production capabilities in the region, and collaborate with leadership to ensure manufacturing readiness for future programs and product lines.
- • The role offers the opportunity to shape the future of autonomous defense systems at a fast-growing, mission-driven defense prime, where you will work on cutting-edge technologies with real-world impact, pursue excellence in everything you do, set ambitious goals, and take on the hardest technical challenges in a demanding environment that values rigor, ownership, and execution.
- • You will gain deep exposure to scaling advanced manufacturing operations in the defense sector, develop expertise in integrating emerging technologies like AI and robotics into production systems, and build leadership experience in high-stakes, cross-functional environments critical to national security innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • A strong academic record in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- • 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership, including significant experience implementing medium- to large-scale production across multiple sites.
- • Demonstrated success working under strict time and budget constraints, preferably in robotics, aerospace, defense, or similarly complex sectors.
- • Comfortable working with advanced robotics, AI, and other emerging technologies, with the ability to learn and apply sophisticated engineering concepts.
- • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver on challenging objectives under tight deadlines and high stakes.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of influencing a wide range of stakeholders—from production-line personnel to senior executives.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Permanent, full-time position with competitive compensation aligned to the company’s $1.4B valuation and post-Series B growth trajectory.
- • On-site work in Arlington, VA with recurrent travel, offering direct engagement with U.S. defense manufacturing hubs and strategic partner ecosystems.
- • Opportunity to work on mission-critical defense technologies with real-world impact, contributing to autonomous systems for allied forces in a high-stakes, innovative environment.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge AI and robotics integration in manufacturing, enabling skill development in next-generation industrial technologies.
- • Clear path to build and lead a U.S. manufacturing organization from the ground up, with significant autonomy and ownership over strategic industrial footprint development.
- • Culture of excellence, ownership, and execution, where rigor and ambition are rewarded and employees are expected to take on the hardest technical challenges.
