Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the US insurance domain at Jane – become the single source of truth for Commercial, BCBS, Medicaid, and Medicare billing rules, state-by-state nuances, and ever-changing payer policies. You will translate dense regulatory language into crystal-clear guidance that Support, Product, and our 100,000+ clinic users can act on confidently.
- • Act as the final escalation point for complex claim rejections and denials. When front-line Support hits a wall, you dive in: dissect EOBs, audit clearinghouse logs, and uncover root causes rather than band-aids. You will document repeatable fixes so the next agent (or the next 500) never has to start from scratch.
- • Create and continuously refresh a living library of insurance resources – SOPs, micro-videos, cheat sheets, and interactive checklists – that turn intimidating workflows into step-by-step wins. You will host live “Billing Power Hours,” moderate a buzzing internal Slack channel, and guest-teach in our customer-facing webinars.
- • Partner directly with high-value clinics during onboarding or crisis moments. Whether a multi-location PT group is switching from paper CMS-1500s or a cash-pay acupuncturist is taking insurance for the first time, you will design a tailored roadmap that gets them paid faster and keeps their patients happy.
- • Mine our ticket queue for patterns. When you spot a spike in CO-45 denials from a regional BCBS plan, you will flag the payer change, brief Product, and co-design an in-app alert that prevents thousands of future rejections. Your data stories will influence roadmap priorities and engineering sprints.
- • Serve as the quality guardian for Jane’s Billing Service. You will review high-dollar claims before submission, run monthly QA spot-checks, and deliver bite-sized coaching to our billers so accuracy stays above 98 %. When new CPT or ICD codes drop, you will own the rollout plan.
- • Champion cross-team alignment. You will translate customer pain points into Jira tickets that engineers understand, craft release notes that Support can relay without confusion, and sit in on sprint reviews to ensure billing logic is both compliant and compassionate.
- • Lead internal improvement sprints. If credentialing workflows feel clunky, you will map the process, cut the steps that don’t add value, and automate reminders so nothing falls through the cracks. You will measure success in reduced turnaround time and happier clinics.
- • Stay plugged into the industry. You will attend payer webinars, maintain relationships with clearinghouse reps, and keep an eye on CMS policy updates so Jane is never caught off guard. When Medicare drops a new NCCI edit, you will summarize the impact in plain English before breakfast.
- • Model Jane’s values daily: communicate with radical candor and kindness, default to transparency, and treat every rejected claim as a chance to learn, teach, and improve. You will help build a culture where “I don’t know” is the start of a great conversation, not a dead end.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of full-cycle US medical billing experience within Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, or Acupuncture practices
- • Expert command of Commercial, BCBS, Medicaid, and Medicare billing rules and state-level variations
- • Demonstrated success managing claim rejections, denials, prior authorizations, and patient collections across multiple payer types
- • Proven track record of creating training content or mentoring peers on billing best practices
- • Comfortable acting as the final escalation point for complex insurance inquiries in a high-volume support environment
🏖️ Benefits
- • $72,000 USD starting salary with guaranteed annual merit increases
- • 100 % employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance plus FSA/HSA options
- • Life, short- and long-term disability coverage at no cost to you
- • One Medical, Spring Health, and XP Health memberships for holistic well-being
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and paid company retreats
