Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Immerse yourself in a two-week, invitation-only enrichment program designed to give high-achieving undergraduate students an insider’s view of Seaport Global’s full-service investment banking and capital markets platform. Running June 1 – June 11, 2026, the US Summer Workshop is a fast-paced, Zoom-based curriculum that blends live presentations, interactive case studies, and Q&A sessions with senior deal-makers, research analysts, sales & trading professionals, and operations leaders.
  • • Each morning you will join a 90-minute “Market Pulse” briefing led by Seaport Global’s Head of US Strategy, dissecting overnight macro moves, credit spreads, and equity flows. Afternoons rotate through deep-dive modules: Leveraged Finance Structuring, High-Yield Distribution, SPAC Lifecycle Management, ESG Integration in DCM, and Distressed Asset Valuation. You will receive the same morning research packet sent to institutional clients and be expected to come prepared with two probing questions per topic.
  • • Work in small squads of four to five participants on a capstone “Mini-Deal” simulation. Your team will be assigned a live, anonymized issuer and asked to craft a financing solution, marketing deck, and investor targeting list within 48 hours. On Day 9 you will pitch your recommendation to a panel of Managing Directors who provide real-time feedback on structure, pricing, and risk allocation.
  • • Gain first-hand exposure to Seaport Global’s proprietary data terminals and analytics libraries. A dedicated tech mentor will walk you through fixed-income pricing runs, covenant databases, and relative-value screens. You will leave the program with a personal dashboard you can continue to access for six months—an edge few undergraduates ever receive.
  • • Network relentlessly. Every session ends with a 15-minute “virtual coffee roulette” that randomly pairs you with an analyst, associate, or VP for candid career conversations. You will also receive a digital directory of all 2026 participants and Seaport Global mentors, complete with LinkedIn opt-in links to foster long-term connections.
  • • Optional—but highly encouraged—New York headquarters visit. On a single spring-announced day, fly or train in for breakfast with the CEO, sit in on a live trading-floor huddle, tour the private client vaults, and attend an evening reception on the 39th-floor terrace overlooking the Hudson. Travel stipends are not provided, yet many past attendees cite this day as the catalyst for later full-time offers.
  • • Leave with a certificate of completion signed by the Global Head of Banking and a detailed performance letter you can attach to future Seaport Global or industry applications. While the workshop itself is unpaid, top performers are fast-tracked to first-round interviews for the following year’s paid summer analyst class.
  • • Expect rigorous preparation. Pre-reading packets totaling ~150 pages are sent two weeks before kickoff; familiarity with basic accounting, bond math, and Excel navigation is assumed. Daily knowledge checks keep the cohort sharp, and Slack-based office hours run until 9 p.m. ET to accommodate West Coast and international time zones.
  • • Contribute to Seaport Global’s culture of continuous improvement. On the final afternoon you will participate in a design-thinking sprint to re-imagine one client touchpoint—be it pitch-book format, roadshow logistics, or ESG data visualization. Winning ideas are presented to the Executive Committee and have historically been piloted within six months.
  • • Uphold the highest ethical standards. Seaport Global operates under strict compliance protocols; you will complete a 30-minute training on information barriers, personal trading policies, and confidentiality before receiving access to any proprietary materials. Integrity is non-negotiable.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program with a major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related business discipline; graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027 preferred
  • • Demonstrated academic excellence with a cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent; unofficial transcript required at application stage
  • • Genuine and articulate interest in capital markets, evidenced by prior coursework, student investment clubs, case competitions, or relevant internships
  • • Strong analytical and quantitative skill set: comfortable interpreting financial statements, performing basic DCF or bond pricing calculations, and navigating Excel without extensive guidance
  • • Reliable high-speed internet and availability for the full duration of June 1 – June 11, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET; optional NYC day attendance is encouraged but not mandatory

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to Seaport Global’s research, data tools, and senior leadership—assets normally reserved for full-time employees
  • • Certificate of completion plus a personalized performance letter that significantly strengthens future internship and full-time applications
  • • Lifetime inclusion in the Seaport Global Summer Workshop alumni Slack channel and invitation-only networking events held quarterly in major financial centers
  • • Six-month extended access to Seaport Global’s proprietary analytics dashboard and research portal after the program ends
  • • Fast-track consideration for Seaport Global’s paid Summer Analyst Program and accelerated first-round interviews for graduating cohorts
