- • The Valuation & Transactions Analyst role at Global Talent Co. is a pivotal position within a specialized sell-side advisory firm focused exclusively on music rights catalogs. This role directly contributes to maximizing the financial value of intellectual property for artists, songwriters, producers, and publishers by providing rigorous, transaction-driven valuation analysis that informs strategic sale decisions in a highly niche and evolving market.
- • You will be instrumental in shaping how music assets are priced, positioned, and sold in private transactions, working at the intersection of finance, entertainment, and intellectual property — where your analysis directly impacts deal outcomes and client success in a global, remote-first environment.
- • Day to day, you will analyze historical revenue streams from music catalogs to build accurate valuation foundations, including streaming, sync, mechanical, and performance royalties across multiple territories and time periods.
- • You will build, maintain, and stress-test sophisticated financial models using DCF, comparable transaction analysis, and industry-specific multiples to determine fair market value and support pricing strategies for client assets.
- • You will support the full transaction lifecycle — from initial evaluation and buyer outreach to due diligence and closing — by preparing valuation reports, investment memos, and client-facing materials that clearly communicate asset value and transaction rationale.
- • You will conduct deep market research on recent comparable music catalog sales, buyer behavior trends, and pricing multiples to identify market dynamics, emerging opportunities, and risks specific to genres, eras, and rights types.
- • You will identify key value drivers (e.g., catalog depth, genre diversity, streaming growth, sync potential) and risks (e.g., rights fragmentation, declining royalties, litigation exposure) to inform strategic positioning and negotiation tactics.
- • You will collaborate closely with senior advisors on transaction strategy, helping structure deal narratives and asset presentations tailored to specific buyer profiles (e.g., private equity, strategic investors, family offices).
- • You will assist in due diligence processes for M&A transactions, ensuring all financial and operational data is accurate, well-documented, and ready for buyer review — without engaging in ongoing FP&A or statutory reporting.

- • 2–3 years of experience in valuation, transaction advisory, investment banking, or M&A-related roles, with demonstrable experience in financial modeling and deal analysis.
- • Strong technical proficiency in building and validating DCF models, comparable transaction analysis, and valuation multiples — Excel proficiency is essential; familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
- • Proven ability to focus on transaction-driven analysis (e.g., deal pricing, structuring, buyer outreach) rather than ongoing financial reporting, budgeting, or compliance work.
- • Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret complex revenue streams, assess investment risk/return, and translate data into clear, actionable insights for clients and internal teams.
- • Demonstrated interest or exposure to the music, entertainment, or intellectual property industries — whether through academic projects, personal passion, or prior work in royalties, licensing, or media finance.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and professional client-facing materials such as investment memos, valuation reports, and pitch decks.
