  • • Anrok is at the forefront of revolutionizing global tax compliance for businesses navigating the complexities of the digital economy. As the leading tax automation platform, we empower companies to expand their reach across the globe without the burden of intricate compliance challenges. In an era where digital commerce has surged dramatically, businesses, particularly in the software sector, are grappling with an ever-increasing landscape of sales tax, VAT, and GST obligations across numerous jurisdictions. This presents a significant hurdle for companies aiming for seamless international transactions.
  • • Our mission is to eliminate this complexity. Anrok's unified platform integrates with billing and payment systems to automate the entire tax lifecycle – from monitoring exposure and calculating rates to ensuring accurate filings. We meticulously manage the dynamic and often convoluted web of tax laws at municipal, state, federal, and international levels, freeing our clients to concentrate on their core business growth rather than getting entangled in compliance intricacies. Our impressive clientele includes a significant portion of the Forbes Top 50 AI companies and the Forbes Top 100 Cloud companies, alongside industry leaders such as Notion, Anthropic, and Cursor, underscoring our impact and credibility.
  • • Backed by over $100 million in funding from distinguished investors like Spark Capital, Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures, Anrok is poised for significant expansion. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VAT Manager (EMEA) to join our dynamic team in Dublin, Ireland. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our VAT strategy across the EMEA region, ensuring seamless compliance for both Anrok and our growing customer base.
  • • As the VAT Manager (EMEA), you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for all VAT-related matters within the EMEA territories. Your responsibilities will encompass providing expert advice on VAT registration requirements, accurately determining applicable tax rates, and ensuring adherence to all compliance obligations for businesses operating within these markets. This will involve a deep understanding of the nuances of VAT legislation across various European countries and beyond.
  • • A key aspect of this role will be to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for our dedicated tax operations team. You will empower them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively oversee VAT compliance operations across all relevant EMEA markets, guaranteeing the accuracy and timeliness of all filings for Anrok and our diverse clientele. This mentorship and knowledge transfer are critical to scaling our operations effectively.
  • • You will collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams, acting as a crucial liaison between business needs and technical solutions. Your insights will directly influence the development of our platform, helping to shape how Anrok addresses specific and evolving tax challenges. This includes staying ahead of and integrating solutions for e-invoicing mandates, navigating complex fiscal representation requirements, and accommodating unique country-specific filing obligations.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in supporting customer implementations, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting complex issues that arise concerning EMEA global tax compliance. Your ability to resolve escalations efficiently and effectively will be paramount to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and trust.
  • • Proactive engagement with regulatory changes is essential. You will be responsible for continuously monitoring and analyzing evolving tax legislation and regulatory landscapes across the EMEA region. Translating these complex changes into clear, actionable guidance for the business and our operational teams will be a core function, ensuring Anrok and its customers remain compliant and competitive.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing, innovative company. You will be instrumental in building out our EMEA tax function, contributing to the strategic direction of Anrok's global compliance efforts, and working with a talented team passionate about solving complex problems in the fintech and tax technology space.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in GST/VAT compliance, with a strong focus on the EMEA region.
  • • Proven, in-depth working knowledge of VAT registration processes, filing procedures, and reporting requirements across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • • Based in Dublin, Ireland, with the legal right to work in Ireland.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • The significant equity upside characteristic of an early-stage startup, combined with the robust product-market fit of a more established company.
  • • An annual learning and development stipend to support professional growth through books, online courses, conferences, and opportunities to share knowledge with a curious and collaborative team.
  • • Regular team offsites and social gatherings throughout the year to foster camaraderie and strengthen team bonds.
