📋 Description
- • Embark on a pivotal role as a Vendor / Category Manager for Deliveroo Hop in the vibrant UAE market, where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of on-demand grocery delivery. Deliveroo Hop is revolutionizing the way customers access their daily essentials, offering a 24/7 digital-only supermarket experience that delivers groceries, ingredients, and household necessities to their doorsteps in mere minutes. This is a unique opportunity to drive the commercial success of a specific category within this rapidly expanding business.
- • As a key member of the Vendor Management team, you will collaborate closely with the Vendor Management Lead to define and execute a winning category strategy. Your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle, from meticulous range selection and strategic sourcing to astute pricing, cost optimization, and contract negotiations. You will be empowered to influence promotional campaigns, merchandising efforts, and marketing initiatives, all while cultivating strong, productive relationships with your assigned vendors.
- • We are seeking a candidate with a deeply ingrained commercial acumen, a relentless focus on driving growth, and a creative flair for tackling complex challenges. Your ability to analyze market dynamics, identify opportunities, and translate insights into actionable plans will be crucial for success. This role offers significant autonomy and the chance to make a tangible impact on Deliveroo Hop's performance in a dynamic and competitive landscape.
- • Your day-to-day will involve a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You will be responsible for monitoring SKU performance, identifying underperforming products, and implementing strategies to optimize the product range for maximum customer appeal and profitability. This includes conducting deep-dive analyses into category performance against set targets, diagnosing deviations, and developing robust plans to achieve sustainable growth and exceed expectations.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves proactive vendor management. You will be the primary point of contact for local and international grocery suppliers, nurturing these relationships to ensure optimal service levels and favorable commercial terms. This includes negotiating contracts, analyzing vendor performance data, and implementing corrective actions where necessary to uphold quality and service standards. You will also ensure vendors adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work hand-in-hand with the in-stock team to identify and onboard new, exciting products that align with customer demand and category strategy. Furthermore, you will play a role in driving media spend with vendors, leveraging their marketing budgets to enhance product visibility and promotional effectiveness on the Deliveroo Hop platform. Resolving vendor-related issues, including invoice discrepancies and payment reconciliations, will also fall within your purview, requiring strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- • Staying ahead of the curve is essential. You will continuously monitor market trends, analyze competitor activities, and identify emerging opportunities for new vendors and product ranges. This forward-thinking approach will ensure Deliveroo Hop remains at the forefront of the on-demand grocery market. The role is based in our Dubai office (DIFC), operating on a hybrid model (three days in the office), reporting directly to the Senior Vendor Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative company that is transforming the way people shop and eat.
